Time: 8:00 pm AZ (7:00 pm PT/10:00 pm ET)
Place: Footprint Center, Phoenix, AZ
TV: TNT
The Clippers are coming off a big win over the 2nd place Golden State Warriors last night at Staples Center. Now they have their eye on the top prize, the Phoenix Suns. However, the Suns have other ideas and plan to continue their dominance from the last couple of games while Torrey Craig and especially Aaron Holiday get accustomed to the Suns’ schemes.

Can’t wait to see how our newcomers fare in our system against real competition.

Do not ever take the Clippers lightly. They could start three Nic Batums and two Eric Dampiers and Ty Lue would still get them to 40 wins.

Sure, if you’re living in a sci fi cloning world. Like that’s not impressive enough that Ty Lue figured out how to clone NBA players.

I never considered that scenario.

I didn't appreciate Lue or Spoelstra while they had Lebron. But those two guys are in the top 3-4 coaches of the last decade.

Cloning with accelerated growth AND impressed training. That’s Kamino level engineering…. But just remember how awful was the clones’ shooting, so I wouldn’t be so sure about the 40 wins…

Do you think either became better coaches having learned from LeBron on their roster? Or do you think they were good coaches before and after, regardless?

I think great coaches learn from all of their experiences, so yes to both.

And what about when he brings in his bench? I can already hear it now as they play Send in the Clones over the PA system.

Clone jokes aside, I have a healthy fear of the Clippers. They are having a rough season and they're currently 8th with a just-under-.500 record. But they have a lot of guys who play well against us. Reggie Jackson carves us up for some reason. Terrence Mann plays great defense against our starting guards. Zubac is mostly a scrub but somehow always seems to have 20-20 games against Ayton. They have several random wings and shooters who often burn us with corner 3s, such as Batum and Kennard and Hood. And they have a great coach. On paper we should destroy these guys since Paul George and Kawhi are out. But I hope the Suns don't take them for granted, because this smells like a trap game to me.
Also, how scary would these guys be if healthy? You put Paul George and Kawhi Leonard on this team and I would want absolutely no part of them in the playoffs. Maybe next year will be their year.

If they could just make a trade for Porziņģis, Jamal Murray and Anthony Davis. They may never play more than a game or two together but imagine how scary it would be for that team that got them all together for one night?

The Clippers have 12 guys between 6’5 and 6’8, 2 7-Footers, and 2 6’3 guards…and oh by the way, their 2 6’3 guards have 7’0 wingspans.

They seem to have done similarly to James Jones in the sense of acquiring a large platoon of semi-interchangeable wings who are athletic, good defenders, and can hit 3s. So they basically have 3-4 guys on the floor at almost all times who you can't cheat off of on defense and who generally acquit themselves on their own defensive end. I think that is a very successful general team-building strategy, especially when combined with getting 1-2 superstars (George, Leonard) to plop onto the team with all those wings. If only both of the superstars weren't injured...

Ya Clips and Raps are basically only playing wings alongside a pg. I do think it could be the next new thing in the nba. One of those teams will have to win doing it though.

It's sort of the next big thing until it isn't. Those teams can be really effective, but if they get bulldozed over and over by an Embiid or Giannis or Jokic and can't beat the teams with a great big man in a series, the trend won't catch on.

They have some good players, but no one really special playing for them at this point. Swap Alvin Gentry for Ty Lue and this Clippers squad would be rattling off 5 game losing streaks twice a month. (No offense, Alvin.)

Zubac out of the gates early with 7 points and 7 boards.
Ayton registering zeroes ...

The ghost of Ayton's vagina decided to show up tonight.

Ayton has the yips around the rim so far in this one.
The perimeter defense has to do better of cutting off drives to the lane otherwise Zubac and Hartenstein are going to feast on offensive rebounds.
