Maybe I shouldn't have picked Raptors in 6.

I’m regretting that one too. I doubt Maxey is going to be that guy in every game, but the Raptors are also really banged up. Kind of hoping Nurse makes some serious adjustments for game 2.

I don’t care who we play in the Finals as long as we’re in the Finals.

Just watched Gary Payton surprise Smart with the award. Gotta admit it was pretty cool. First guard in 25 years since GP got it.

Mikal being 2nd in DPOY before even starting his 2nd NBA contract is pretty fucking remarkable.

It'll be interesting to see if the votes for perimeter players this year will be an outlier or the new normal in future seasons. It wouldn't surprise me to see the top 3 next season be something like Gobert, JJJ, and Robert Williams.

And the narrative around the rest of his career now will be “one of the two or three best perimeter defenders in the league”, unless injury or something unexpected comes along. He’s more or less a lock to be in the discussion for DPOY and First Team All-Defense for at least the next five years. It’s a big jump for him in terms of recognition, even if he didn’t get the award this year.

I don’t care who the Suns beat in the finals, as long as they beat somebody in the finals.

Yay! East Coast bias triumphs again! Couldn't be any better timing coming a day after he held Kyrie Irving to 39 points. Congrats to Al Horford and Robert Williams who received votes to confirm the seriousness of the voting!

Nothing when it comes to accolades and the Phoenix Suns is a lock.
