I don't want Melo on the team and I don't want to see us become this older group of former stars signing 1yr deals looking to cash in for a ring. CP's looking for a friend and Melo's looking to tag along on a Finals run.
When you look at the projected playoff rotation players - Durant, Booker, Paul, Ayton, Craig, Payne, Warren, Ross, Landale/Boyombo and possibly Bazley or D. Lee - where is there room for another buyout player?
The only glaring spot to improve is guard play off the bench, and Payne is probably better than anything that will be available.

I think it’s mostly about depth and opportunity. We have a lot of bodies, but we also don’t have many locked in rotation guys. We’ve got a lot of injury risk players, so adding extra depth seems like a good idea.

The guy with the stupid hat in the first two pictures sure looks lively. What a smile!
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
Y'all really think Bazley is gonna play? I don't see it. They'll sign a vet that will make Ish and that dude irrelevant. No way you can trust either of those guys to do anything in the playoffs.

I lean towards no he won’t play, but he’s got a unique skill set that we don’t have anywhere else on the roster. It really depends on how he picks up the suns current system.
