I'd say that's thread worthy.

Good for Channing. Good for the Suns for not matching.

4 years 32mil. Sad to see him go, but glad we didn't give him 8mil a year.

Money aside, that's a real good signing for the Magic. They desperately need the shooting and he can be a real positive veteran influence on a young team.

Best of luck down there.

Ouch, the Suns could really use some Love right now. It's going to be tough for the Suns to replace his production and spacing.

Thats a lot of cheese for a streaky shooter, him and Ben Gordon = 12M next year.. Yikes.

I called all along, Frye opted out to get something on that range, and he knew a contract that size was attainable and too much to leave on the table, and the Suns saw it way out of their willingness to pay for him, therefore the media silence around Frye. Both sides knew it was over probably since the exit interviews, but keep it quiet for everybody's best interest.

Channing Frye signs with Magic: 4 years, $32m

Well, if he got this kind of money, you have to just shake the guy's hand and wish him well. That's a ton of bread and I'm happy for him. But I would -NOT- want him here on that deal. So best of luck to him in ORL and thanks to him for so many great years. I think he was a good Sun and gave us a lot of big shots and great memories both in the Nash years and in this transition to our new era. Best wishes, Channing!

Agreed, best for everybody is that he gets his money, but not from us.

I really get to like the guy, but oh boy, this contracts are getting out of hand. Encouraging to know that even when Sarver stated that we were going to spend, it will be wise money.

That's fine but so far we've only gotten worse in free agency. Do we only sign our own FAs? Hang on for a "bumpy" ride. ;)

I am one of Channing's biggest fans, but $32 million is absurd. 4 yrs / $18 mil seems like an appropriate amount to pay an aging stretch four who plays modest defense and doesn't rebound much.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of impact the loss of Channing will have on our spacing. The Suns were much more dangerous last year with Channing on the floor than on the bench, and the Dragic-Frye combo was one of the deadliest P&R duos in the league.

Time for Markieff to spread his wings.

Who is ready to lead the Alec Brown bandwagon?

Any takers? INF?

Like everyone else so far, I'm happy for Channing and pleased we're not the ones paying him that kind of cash for 4 years. Somehow one of the most polarising Suns players has brought the phx-suns.net community together!

Channing Frye and Aaron Gordon together. The Wildcat tradition shines on in Orlando.

What is the college loyalty makeup here at .net?

Also, how the hell do I only have 40 posts? I need to step up my game.

It's probably all over the map. I started out at ASU but graduated from NAU.

Plus, I think they drafted Miles Simon in 1997.

Again - never had anything personal against Frye, but I'm SO glad he's gone. Alec Brown could easily replace him at a fraction of the cost.

Sad about McRoberts going back to Charlotte, but, if all we need is a 3-point "threat" at 4, Markieff's plenty for a decoy.

Um, what?

Also, McBob is going to Miami.
