Bravo for Chuck. He never has worried about pissing people off, and sometimes you need to do things that a lot of people won't be able to accept.

Someday we're going to get to the point when we treat everyone equally, and with respect. Unfortunately I don't think it's going to be in my lifetime. But still, I grew up in a Baptist home and it took me years to get over the religous "grooming" that I grew up with, so I guess it can happen for anyone (although I don't see it happening for some of my family members).

I could be misremembering, but I think he has at least one relative who identifies as gay or bisexual.

Also worth noting that he comes from a part of the country that is home to a large population of bigoted people, so he has plenty of life experience telling them where they can stick their opinions.
