Thanks wp!

I just saw this tweet. Not sure this would be a good move for us. Just because Nurk is dead salary doesn't mean you swap him for an even longer contract.

Pass.

Williams is a PF who can't score or rebound and has another 4 years/$72 million left on his contract.

I'd probably do that deal tbh. No picks involved, just a swap. PWill would give us the SF/PF with size we could use off the bench. It would help rebalance the roster too moving off a 4th center for perimeter depth without moving Allen. And I think you could still flip PWill down the road if need be.

I’m in if we are not giving up picks.

Agreed.

He's not good, but he's better than emo Nurkic.

In typical Suns fashion, I'd rather have one of their other bigs -- Jalen Smith.

Stix would be nice to have playing next to Oso.

I can see him getting some minutes and eventually being flipped for a second rounder or two in a future season. Can’t see that for Nurk.

I think the "winner" of the Patrick Williams sweepstakes will be the 29 teams that aren't stuck with him.

He peaked his rookie season. I get that everyone is done with Nurk, but taking on Williams and his contract isn't an improvement. Sure, he brings some length and athleticism, can do some things on the defensive end, and can hit the occasional three. But he can't shoot consistently, he isn't productive, and he is a terrible rebounder. He just offers very little basketball value. Maybe there is hope that since he is only 23, he can still improve. But that doesn't justify $18 million a year for four more seasons.

I would rather just waive and stretch Nurkic.

Yeah.
I get the frustration, but stretching him seems excessive.

Well, maybe then he'd have a chance against Wemby.

Solid analysis on what has happened to a once promising player. I think for any team hoping to salvage him, he should really be moved to being a big wing player instead of playing the 4. Also, I think he is mentally a lot like Joe Johnson was early in his career.
