Good test tonight! The Clippers have won 6 out of their last 8 including beating the Bucks by 10 on Saturday night in LA. The Suns continue to have inner turmoil with their big man, Nurkic, who claims that communication has been non-existent and that for him "there is no chaos or bringing that to this team. They already have plenty of it." He hasn't played in the last 9 Suns games. Meanwhile, new starting center Nick Richards was one rebound away from a 20/20 game on Saturday night against the Wizards.

So, down 10 at the end of the 1st and then we stay about even the rest of the way? Sounds like a familiar script against good teams. No Dunn on Harden doesn't help.

Work and stay ready for whatever might be, but there’s no chaos or bringing that to this team. They already have plenty of it.

The Clips have had a bunch of injury problems and probably aren't a contender this year. But they are WAY, WAY better coached, managed, and run than we are. They have managed to put together a team that is an interesting playoff team every year, including two big-name stars for most of it, without mortgaging a decade's worth of assets. They have probably the best coach in the NBA. They have an owner with deep pockets who will do anything to help their team succeed but stays out of basketball decisions and doesn't meddle in his front office. They play in the Lakers' shadow in LA but have taken several steps to try to create their own space and identity such as getting their own arena.

I'm envious of what they have there. On multiple levels they make us look bush league, unprofessional, impetuous, and naive. You get the sense that once they do get 2-3 stars, healthy, on their roster at the same time, they'll be contenders right away.

And while they aren't as talented on paper as we are, I bet they'll manage the game flow better and make much better use of the talent they do have on the floor. I wouldn't bet on the Suns in this one.
