Suns 25/26 Season Predictions

Now that this season is a lost cause and knowing that there will be major off-season changes including, but not limited to, moving KD. Make your predictions about what kind of roster we might end up with and whether you think our record will be better or worse than this season's. In other words, will there be pain before a return to good basketball or do you think it's possible we end up with a better team and record in the aftermath?

I don’t think we will be very good, but probably better than this team. Much more enjoyable. I kinda think this team will win about 36-38 games. Next year we will win like 42 with a roster built around Book

We can only hope!

Buckle up, kids. We are in for a long and painful ride. We are going to trade KD and other players, and we will almost certainly be worse next year. But that's okay. It's what we need to do. We need to get a bunch of picks, tear the team apart, and rebuild it almost from the ground up. Keep Booker if you like, fine, or trade him if he asks out. Keep Dunn, Oso, and some of the other youngs like Gillespie. I'd keep Richards, personally, but not married to him. Keep Bol if he'll sign a cheap-ish contract. Almost every other player should be shipped out if he will net us any sort of pick or young asset. Trade KD, Grayson, Royce, etc. Picks, picks, picks. Call Houston every day, try to get our picks back. Call teams flush in picks like Utah and OKC and Orlando and try to trade for them.

I see almost no way that the team can be better next year given the fact that we are about to ship out a ton of talent and not get nearly as much back.

Addition by subtraction and re-addition? Sometimes hustle and grit outweigh talent. (as we've seen this season or lack thereof)

As far as unloading KD is concerned, I don't want to concentrate on one trading partner. I'm hoping for a bidding war from multiple teams. The more the merrier.

I think you guys are gonna be disappointed in what sort of picks we get in return this off-season, the owner and current FO both seem to despise the draft.

Except we've seen a turnaround there. First with Camara (although let go too easy) and then with Dunn and Oso.

My big worry is that Ishbia hasn't yet felt enough pain to truly learn the lesson. I think he is still going into this offseason in "we can fix it" mode, as in, let's trade KD but trade him for some other vet so that this core team can win now. I really worry that we will make changes with an eye on the present rather than the future of the team. I don't see any way that this core can be salvaged. But if they flip KD for, say, Julius Randle or Jarrett Allen or Sengun or whomever, this team still isn't going to win anything. They need picks and youngs, and cap relief if they can get it. That's it, and that's all.

I just don’t think they will prioritize picks in the return. If they are keeping Booker, they are trying to compete. We aren’t just going to offload players for picks…not when we don’t even have a 2026 draft pick…that’s the first one you’d need to get and it’s tricky. Washington, Orlando, and Memphis all have swap rights on it and Charlotte owns the pick anyways. Best bet is to make a trade with Orlando for a whatever 2026 pick they end up with as they are the most likely team to have our pick.

It’s hard to predict when we don’t even know how many wins we will have this season yet. :P

Nobody said it would easy. You've seen what kind of team we have. It's pretty easy to predict where we'll end up.
