As I've long suspected, KD was the GM the whole time.

It was fun while it lasted! NOT!

He's a great individual player but not a leader. He needs a ready made team. That's the only time he's had success. He's not a LeBron/Kobe type.

I'm just wondering. Depending on the coach we end up with would you be willing to have KD stay with the team as long a we could find a home for Beal? Obviously there will be other moves made but could a Booker/Durant team still work? Or are those bridges burned?

I think it could work…I don’t think we have the ability to get the players to make it work though

It worked in GS but it's impossible to replicate in our position.
I just don't want KD here any longer. We switched to iso-ball since day 1 of his era, even with Paul. That's no winning basketball, no matter how talented you are. He just made us the Nets 2.0

And please, no more vets unbothered or just happy to enjoy the weather for their kids.
Book is no MVP but IMO he flourishes when playing with true professionals (Rubio, Paul, the Olympics), his main flaw is the respect he has for his vets and his tendancy to mimick their mentality, for good or bad.

Not impressed. Feels he just got lucky to get Lebron back at Cleveland.

If we want to clean the house, I'd stay with Jones, he already did that with success.
Or I'd try Myers, or get our new-Jones (former player involved in NBPA and still having contact with a lot of current players) with someone like Andre Iguodola... or Chris Paul if he retires (but he probably will play another year)

Good post. I think you're right that Booker absorbs tendencies from his top teammates, for good or bad. When next to CP3, Book becomes more dogged, more vocal, more chippy. When next to KD, Booker becomes unbothered. A good case for getting KD out of here and bringing in guys who work hard and ARE bothered when shit is wrong.

I do have to correct myself…I thought Book wasn’t extension eligible until next summer, but I guess the 2 year waiting period starts from when the original extension was signed, not when the extension kicked in. So he is in fact eligible for a 2/150 extension this summer.

Begs is pretty tuned in. I think unless we go to the Knicks looking for "win-now" pieces like OG and MitchRob (assuming it works capwise), a KD trade probably doesn't happen. The Knicks also don't have any picks to make a deal more attractive and KD would be limiting their window severely. They're in a good spot with their roster, even with some flaws, but at least they're all in their primes for a 2-3-4 yr run with that core.

It'd be a shame to lose one of the all-time great NBA leaders! Shame on all of us for not seeing it!
