Mavs are 3-8 and the outrage at Nico Harrison is not going away. Nor should it.

It sucks because Nico will get fired and move onto some other high paying exec job while the fans and franchise have to deal with his decision for the next decade.

I honestly think there should be more restrictions on trading and swapping future 1st round picks. It is BS that a bad GM/FO can ruin a franchise for nearly a decade in the future and the fans just have to eat it. Maybe limit it to the next 2-3 years picks are able to be traded but no more.

ESPN reporting Nico Harrison has been fired.
I saw that coming a mile away. You don't trade Luka Doncic, plain and simple. You just got to the NBA Finals, then the very next season you trade him ? That made no sense.
I like Anthony Davis, but he's always injured,....... just like right now. Also, Davis is 6 years older than Luka and has probably two more years left in his prime. It was just a bad trade, plain and simple. I know they're still waiting on Kyrie Irving to come back from the ACL injury, but that team was built around Luka.
Once in a lifetime talent is hard to come by. The Mavericks had it, and let it go.

The trade itself was dumbfounding but even if you feel it's necessary to trade Luka, you have to get back more than AD. Reaves is a must, plus at least three 1sts. Not AD, Max Christie and a Lakers 1st. Nico's ego couldn't handle Luka's star power in Dallas so he made the trade all about himself.

Nico is not alone in the blame. Others in the organization obviously signed off on it. The whole thing is ridiculous to anybody and everybody that isn't Nico and the Mavs organization. From the mere idea of the trade to the ridiculous imbalance of the trade return.

One of the worst trades in NBA history. What trades were worse? Some of those 70s-80s Boston and LAL trades where they traded like some crusty old center for McHale and Parish or whatever, those might be worse, but Luka/AD has to be a top-5 worst trade in NBA history.

I think this is the worst ever. Most of the other trades that turned out to be really bad, it was because of the results of a draft pick, or something else that was not entirely foreseeable when the trade was made (like, say, SGA becoming an MVP-level player, to take a recent example). This was not that. Everybody with eyes and even a tiny amount of basketball sense could see that Luka was one of the five best players in the league, and he was still only 25 years old. He didn't have significant injury concerns. He had been the best player (by far) on a finals team just the postseason before the trade. It was completely inexplicable that a player on that level could be moved for the package that Dallas received.
I don't know if it's the *worst* trade in NBA history, but it's the one that makes the least sense. It was so completely out of left field that the conspiracy theories that have sprung up around it almost seem plausible. The guy that made that trade should have been fired immediately, and should never have work that involves evaluating basketball talent again.

The thing is, it's not one person in an organization that makes this kind of deal. A group of people signed off on this. They must have really hated Luka personally and I can understand that. But you can't let your emotions guide you.
