Thanks for the threads, wp! Lots of great links. Really sad news about Elden Campbell. Gone too soon.

Orlando comes back from a terrible start and beats Miami, while New York handles Toronto pretty easily on the road in Cup games tonight. Both teams advance to the East semifinal in Vegas. The Knicks have pulled to within a couple of games of the lead in the East, while Orlando's recovered from a slow start to win 11 of 15 and move into fourth.

Miami and Toronto, on the other side, are both in a slump right now. Miami's lost 5 of 6 (including to Dallas and Sacramento) and is back in the play-in pack. Toronto's season looks a lot like the Suns' right now: both teams started 1-4, went on hot streaks (Toronto's included 9 in a row and 13 of 14 wins overall) and then have been hit by injuries to fall back down a bit. Both teams are sitting 4 games over .500 as of tonight.

Why do the Spurs have home court advantage against OKC? At least the crowd is pro Spurs.

What a great win for Wemby and the Spurs. You love to see it. F OKC.

I admit I enjoyed seeing Holmgren elbowed in the head and lying on the ground.

Big difference when OKC isn't hitting every shot they take.

I mean, I don’t really have an issue there. Those little shoves happen on every single play. I do think the landing zone stuff should be tweaked. Players should have to land within reason. I think SGA is outside what would be a normal landing zone there and he even started falling so he wouldn’t roll his ankle I assume.

And that's why I don't like SGA.

I think it was Nash or Dirk during that OKC/SAS broadcast who said, "The Thunder have mastered the current NBA rules." As in, they know what they can get away with, they know what refs will call, so they (especially SGA) seek out those calls. It's effective but not very fun to watch.
