i like his attitude. the spurs are the enemy.

Would anyone else be interested in Amare as a free agent next summer? If he's still looking for a championship, honestly, I don't know where he'd sign.

Could have had him this season - the choice wasn't necessarily his.

While it makes sense from a basketball standpoint, last thing I want to do is piss him off just as we're entering negotiations. Borderline All-Star to borderline starter? Ouch!

Also, a quick examination of a playoff chances. Let's say we (miraculously) go 11-2 from here to finish the season. I can't imagine that would be enough to overtake OKC. Dallas would need to finish 5-8. Can't see it happening. http://www.nba.com/standings/team_recor ... f:nba:gnav

IMO, the worst part of the deal was sending Thomas out for almost nothing. The article was right to point out that we made a huge bet on Brandon Knight. We'll find out soon enough if that was in error.

Yeah, sending out that Laker pick for 30 games of Brandon Knight was one thing, but now it looks like we sent out the Laker pick for ~16 games of Knight, which is even worse. And now we'll be forced to give him a big contract so that we don't look stupid for acquiring him.

I think they just decided that he is not in the long range plan and started giving the minutes to others. While his play hasn't been stellar, I don't think its primarily about his play.
