It’s not a joke. Why do you find it necessary to downplay the Suns’ players so frequently?
A career 33% 3P shooter is not a 3-D guy. He is certainly making his presence known on D, and building a reputation there, but not on the 3 part of 3-D. That is especially true when you only take 3 threes a game and play 25 minutes a night.
If we can get Cap to chime in, we'll hit the trifecta! (To be fair, you've actually become the least pessimistic of the three Indy. Kudos!).

The key word is “emerging.” In December-February he is 35-91 (.385), including 12-26 (.462) in February. It’s admittedly a small sample, but recent results are good.

Agreed. If he did that for a season (+38% on 5-7 attempts per game) while maintaining his defense, then he would be a legit 3-D guy.

You can be accepting of sub 30 and sub 20 win seasons all you want. Or anoint people as gods when they aren't even a top 50 player. I am not a pessimist or an optimist. I call things like I see them, not how I wish they were.

And I love Mikal. I think it is critical to have smart basketball players from winning programs on our team. But he hasn't lived up to being a #10 pick and certainly hasn't lived up to being worth 2 first round picks. I expect him to get there, though. The way he finishes the season will be really telling.

I've been teasing you long enough now that you should know it's not intended to be taken at face value. I agree. The team is perennial bad and Mikal is showing signs of improvement but, overall, a disappointment. Let's hope he continues his upward trajectory and sustains.

Yeah, let's forget the recent improvement on his shot why don't we? Too bad he's stuck at 33% for his career. I forgot it works that way. My bad. BTW, do you know what the word 'emergent' means?

I am aware of what the word means. And a sample size of 50 recent shots is not a sample size you should trust, when there are 400 other shots that tell a different story.

I am very hopeful that the recent trend is going to stick, and with it he will be more willing to take open shots (and his teammates will be more willing to pass him the ball to take the open shot). But I am not going to pretend that his best 50 of his 450 3P shots is what he is yet.

Let's not assume the reverse either. Deal?

It isn't an assumption. His career is 33% from 3. It is great he is on a streak the last 50 shots or so. But just because Devin goes on a streak of hitting 50 FTs in a row doesn't make me say is a 100% FT shooter.

Or maybe he wants to find a new home since he'll probably be pulling in $25M+ a year for the next 10 years.

Yes.

Why are you so offended by another man's hobby or passion?

That was my thought. No way a star making 25M/year wants to just have a 4M house.

On a personal note, I just bought a house back in AZ! Well, we have an accepted offer. Can't close until May.

I heard he bought a $10 mil house, so it makes sense that he's selling this one. Also, I heard that he owns a penthouse apartment in one of the high rises downtown. Sounds like he's doing just fine.
