Kemba's cooked guys. He's a smaller guard, doesn't defend and isn't a great 3pt shooter. Just because he's a "name", doesn't mean we should be signing him.
He is fine. Bringing him in to be insurance behind CP3 and Payne isn't asking a lot. He dropped 44 in a game last year. We wouldn't be asking him to play 30 minutes a night and be a starter. He can come in, handle the ball, score a little.
This is just dying for an Archie Goodwin response.
I remember when Jamal Crawford randomly dropped 50 lol

you think he could start and run the offense for 20 games if Paul is out?
I would probably start Cam Payne ahead of him, but I would like having Kemba there for when Payne gets hurt or is playing poorly.
If you could only have one going into the season, which one? I am not sure Kemba is better right now, but it could be the situation he was in. And I guess it depends on if you are getting Cam Payne of 6 months ago, or 15 months ago.
I’d take Payne if it was one or the other

I'd go with CamPayne just because he is younger, bigger, and gives you more on the defensive end.

Kemba’s knees are totally shot. He’s a big enough name that NBA people would’ve chased after him if he actually had any game left; if we are chasing older former all stars we may as well save our dough for when Conley gets bought out.

Derrick Favors anyone? Could at least provide a big body.

We need big bodies that can play the 4, Favors can’t

He started his career at PF. Are you saying he just doesn't have the goods to play it now?

Yeah. He’s a 5.

I’d be open if we lose Saric in a trade.

Ya, he played the 4 next to Rudy for a bit, but part of the reason they traded him was because he couldn’t play next to him. When they brought him back, he exclusively played backup 5.

He's too slow to play the 4.

I think our 5 depth is maybe the best among all positions. Quite happy with Landale and Biyombo.

Those contract numbers are going up…wonder what CamJ’s deal will look like. Only gonna be higher next summer as we get closer to the new media deal. I’d lock him up now. Though maybe we could get 4/72…but think it’s gonna be more like the 4/92 Mikal got

What does this mean for Klay Thompson long term?

I think a lot depends on how he plays this year. He was not the same Klay last year. I’m sure they’ll keep him around, but I assume he’ll move to the bench soon.

4/140 for Poole and yet...I think you all can finish my sentence for me.

I think Poole might have more value than Ayton. Primary shot creation is the number 1 skill you want in an nba player and Poole is pretty great at that. He hasn’t done it for long though and I’d worry about regression and how he’d look without Curry. It does make me feel better about the Ayton contract though.

However, if you told me I could trade Ayton for Poole right now, I’d do it.

Not buying the Lakers this season. I think they will be a big disappointment. Bunch of old egotistical dudes who don't play well together and will break down. Lebron is really old. AD is made of glass. Westbrook has been bad for years now. Super overrated team.
They may have assembled a collection of the worst shooters in NBA history. This team will have the lowest 3p% in the past 25 years unless they make some moves.

Theo Maledon and Ty Jerome were 2 names that were signed to 2 way deals this week I would have been interested in. I'm really nervous about this teams guard depth. Payne coming off a poor season and I didn't see a ton from him that made me feel all that great. Washington is on a 2 way and I'm not sure he's a PG. He's definitely unproven but has potential.

The West is going to be extraordinarily tough this year. With the Nugs and Clippers getting a boost from players returning and then there's the Griz and Pelicans who will only be getting better assuming no major injuries. Right now Phoenix is a man or 2 short from keeping up with most of the top tier teams IMO.
