Around the League: Week 6 11/20-11/26
Re: Around the League: Week 6 11/20-11/26
Did Colangelo screw up with Philly's big (literally) 3 or what? Got almost nothing for Noel and I'm flabbergasted by what they're doing with Okafor.

This was a big reason why I had him after Fox, Tatum, and Jackson.Superbone wrote:LaVar Ball says Lakers ‘don’t know how to coach’ his son Lonzo

I'm really glad we're not dealing with this freak show.
I also didn't believe in his shooting ability and overall passion for winning.

Doesn't matter, they've landed the top prospect in 3 of the last 4 drafts (Embiid, Simmons, Fultz)Hermen wrote:Did Colangelo screw up with Philly's big (literally) 3 or what? Got almost nothing for Noel and I'm flabbergasted by what they're doing with Okafor.

There's also all the political stuff, the stuff with Lonzo's brother, etc. I still wish we had him, but I can totally see not wanting to deal with this kind of stuff.Superbone wrote:LaVar Ball says Lakers ‘don’t know how to coach’ his son Lonzo

Interesting scorelines from last night
Heat have had a slow start to the season but they always have close games/battles with the Celtics don't matter who the roster is , streak had to end eventually.
The Knicks beating the Raptors and also Philly making light work of the Blazers , it is not yet 20 games into the season but I think it's clear that those two trending in the right direction

Amazing how much better the Knicks are without Melo and Rose (and Jackson).

A 20+ PPG scorer is worthless if he hogs the ball and stunts the growth of the players around him. Down with chuckers!

Since when are Okafor and Noel part of anybodies big 3? I think Hinkie screwed up drafting Okafor, but otherwise I think they are fine.Hermen wrote:Did Colangelo screw up with Philly's big (literally) 3 or what? Got almost nothing for Noel and I'm flabbergasted by what they're doing with Okafor.

And how the Thunder and Cavs aren't any better at all.Superbone wrote:Amazing how much better the Knicks are without Melo and Rose (and Jackson).

Came to post that. It's interesting. Would not surprise me if he stepped away for a season only to come back next year.

I think he's done. Not sure his heart is in it anymore. He was questioning his basketball future his last year in Chicago.

Anybody opposed to trading Chriss, Warren and our Miami 1st (this years) for A Gordon?

Re: Around the League: Week 6 11/20-11/26
We would be in the same position, except Gordon instead of Warren. We need more GOOD players, imo, not swap good players for slightly better players. Would like Gordon, be he wouldn't help this year.
Re: Around the League: Week 6 11/20-11/26
I think Gordon's very overrated, but I'm not opposed to trading Chriss.
Re: Around the League: Week 6 11/20-11/26
Maybe. I like Gordon but I don't know that it ultimately does much for us. That gives us Booker/Jackson/Gordon and our 1st. We'd still need a dominant big man and a PG. I like the idea of using the Miami pick to find our PG of the future. There's a couple guys I like (Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Bruce Brown, and maybe Collin Sexton)specialsauce wrote:Anybody opposed to trading Chriss, Warren and our Miami 1st (this years) for A Gordon?
Switch the Miami pick for the Milwaukee pick and I'd do it.

Aging players who still think they are good can really be a drag on a team.Superbone wrote:Amazing how much better the Knicks are without Melo and Rose (and Jackson).

We need to keep this in mind when we start pining to trade all our young assets for some big name player. It better be the right player.O_Gardino wrote:And how the Thunder and Cavs aren't any better at all.Superbone wrote:Amazing how much better the Knicks are without Melo and Rose (and Jackson).
