Suns sign Cheick Diallo
Re: Suns sign Cheick Diallo
I like it. Seems like a low risk high reward deal.

Info incoming to give it a D grade. While he likes Diallo, the fact that the Suns made the transaction automatically moves it down 3 letter grades.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Fine for a young 3rd stringer/project to take a flyer on. Checks the box for some speed and athleticism at the 4/5.
So maybe Saric and Diallo are our new Bender and Chriss?

Great pickup, we really needed someone to challenge Saric for minutes and perhaps eventually the starting spot, as well as a complement in the athletic and rebounding areas in our frontcourt.

So smooth, that I rolled back up the screen to look for Informer’s post, thinking I missed it!!!
ok, seriously, I have to admit, that I get to know this guy thanks to Inf, and his seal of approval is a big part of what makes me like this move.

I like it a lot. I preferred Christian Wood, but this was the next best thing to address our weaknesses.
There will be injuries and Diallo can step in and give us some good minutes and potentially play alongside any of our 4 other bigs.

As been the discussion for weeks now, decent roster via radical roster clean up vs decent roster with better use of assets we had will probably go on all summer
I get the concerns of those who not happy with the draft night transactions but I just really wanted Kelly back, this is another pickup I approve of and I think we all in all we have a decent group going into next season and I'm just happy I can say so

For a third string PF/C, yes, this is a good signing. Young, energetic, raw, average defender for a PF, zero offensive game other than dunks. In short, he's a lot like Richaun Holmes (and we liked him).

Nice well-rounded roster. I look forward to seeing what we've got.

Gives us something different. Like it
Re: Suns sign Cheick Diallo
I had a similar reaction. I think Wood is a better player, but Diallo addresses so many of things Jones has ignored this offseason. It feels good to feel good about a move, even a minor one.
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.

I don’t know that an NBA team wants Bender. Maybe he’ll get some hair on his chest in Russia.
