How do you invest in that? Through precious metal ETFs?virtual9mm wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 5:30 amRegarding investments, I would be all about precious metals if I didn't have most of my net worth tied up in my startup. I am for all intent and purposes a poor man lol.
FYI - as seen on the other thread - there is no shared reality anymore. Some substantial blinders on the Democratic side but really a fantasy world on the Republican side. I wish old John McCain were still around. Never before have we needed him more.
Eventually it will turn into something that makes Hong Kong look like a sloppy dress rehearsal. And on top of the overextended nature of the markets we are going to see precious metals soar.

Re: Democratic primary watch
Precious metals soar during recessions and not so much during good times. Technically this is good times with a storm on the horizon. Now might be a great time. I researched it before and it seemed like you had to buy gold coins marked up and then when you sell then they take another cut like a middleman. I’ll check out GLD.

I like it. Of course it opens up another can of worms regarding election security.
Re: Democratic primary watch
Wouldn’t that have to mean every eligible voter has a smartphone?
Re: Democratic primary watch
Not if it's just one of the voting methods.

Swipe right for Republican, swipe left for Democrat. Swipe waaaaaaay left for Bernie. Centrists, just kind of mush your finger in place.
Re: Democratic primary watch
If they want to become “the first in which every voter can,” they have to ensure that every voter has access. Otherwise they’re just a place “in which most voters can.”
Re: Democratic primary watch
Which is better than what we have now. Obviously, not every voter has a smart phone. What's your solution?Cap wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 4:14 pmIf they want to become “the first in which every voter can,” they have to ensure that every voter has access. Re: Democratic primary watch
My solution is vote the same way you always did if you want but, if you have a smart phone you have the option to vote that way. Not even an issue.

That was my thinking.

Re: Democratic primary watch
Still no result yet from the Iowa caucus. Possible problems with their new app tech for reporting results. What a mess.
Re: Democratic primary watch
Par for the course.
Re: Democratic primary watch
As a tech person, let me say, I would never trust some dumb mobile app to submit vote counts for a real election. Paper and humans and lots of record-keeping, thank you very much. Luckily it sounds like they did keep meticulous backups to make certain there is no chance of a wrong count or wrong result.
