Re: Suns News: Coronavirus Break
As pessimistic as I've been about COVID and the season prospects, nevertheless I am excited to see photos and videos and tweets of our team getting ready for practices and games. It would be such a welcome sight to see some NBA games on the air.
Re: Suns News: Coronavirus Break
Nash had already been leading the leagues best offense for years before he came back. I would love to see that from Rubio, I just wouldn't bet on it.Superbone wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 11:58 amHe's at the age where Nash turned it up and got going on multiple MVPs.ShelC wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 7:58 amI don't see what the contract has to do with anything. He's locked in and proved his worth IMO. And he's still relatively young, even if he's got a lot of miles on him. His game is what is it, so I don't see a major decline coming as he hits 30. If we draft a PG of the future and can afford to get rid of him, by all means. But i don't see him as some albatross deal where he's so overpaid vs his production or impact.

But u said David Klein is a good follow for insightIndy wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 7:09 amIf he was in the last year of his contract, I could see it. but he just signed an over-priced deal for a PG turning 30 that can't shoot. And with the talk of the team coming together and fighting as one, I just don't see him doing that. I kind of hope he does, it it means we would consider trading him to get out of that contract (I think year 3 is going to be so bad).ShelC wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 6:20 amMore and more I get the feeling Rubio may opt out because of his newborn. Other players have done so and the Suns aren't talking probably so it won't be a distraction. Adding Payne means they know they might be shorthanded too. Hopefully he's just waiting until the last minute to get there and the Suns are OK with it because he's a vet.

Re: Suns News: Coronavirus Break
I'm not on top of college ball so I was only reading reports and posts on here to get an idea of Cam.
Obviously most were losing their minds and my takeaway was Ok he can shoot , but not healthy and probably one dimensional. I honestly like Cam and he's quicker than I expected and has some sneaky athleticism to him. U never know with these "summer reports" about new muscle and fitness lol but I wanna see how he plays in the restart.
There were many times where he either got out on the break or drive to the rim but couldn't take the bounce or contact but I think he has a chance to have a decent drive game complement his shooting. Well to be continued
Oh and there's always this to build upon

He is a great follow. Rubio is shooting 35% for the season from 3. That is not good. The fact that he shoots 51% from catch and shoot 3s in the corner tells you he isn't shooting that shot enough, and taking worse shots much more often.bajanguy008 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 3:48 pmBut u said David Klein is a good follow for insightIndy wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 7:09 amIf he was in the last year of his contract, I could see it. but he just signed an over-priced deal for a PG turning 30 that can't shoot. 35% is pretty average. But his catch and shoot numbers are good. Means his pull up numbers are pretty bad.Indy wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 4:11 pmHe is a great follow. We in here talking about practice. I mean, listen, we're talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, we talking about practice. Not a game.

Re: Suns News: Coronavirus Break
I think Rubio could see an uptick in his catch and shoot 3pt percentage as he gets older. It's about reps and consistency and his shot isn't even really broken, just flat at times. He'll never be a fluid, dynamic offensive scorer like Nash, Curry or Paul but he reminds me more of Kidd who over time became respectable, if not dangerous, from 3 later on in his career.

Re: Suns News: Coronavirus Break
Yep, add a little arc please! For FTs too. Really surprised they don't work with him to do that. It leaves no room for error when the shot is that flat.ShelC wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 7:07 pmI think Rubio could see an uptick in his catch and shoot 3pt percentage as he gets older. Re: Suns News: Coronavirus Break
It's too little too late for me. This smells like a regret waiting to happen. I like Saric, and he has the tools to be what we need at the 4, he just didn't put it together this season, and I don't need to see the sequel. Best to move on.ShelC wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 5:56 amWhere was that level of fitness in October? One of the knocks on him was he was a "play his way into shape" kinda guy at the start of every season. And of course now he's up for a contract. I still like him and would keep him at the right price, but I also get shades of Tim Thomas here.
Re: Suns News: Coronavirus Break
No, he struggled defensively with Utah too.
