Well, using Twitter as my scouting source on this. I'm OUT on Vassell now.

Seems to have been deleted...
He's developed a pretty pronounced catapult form to his shot where he's taking the ball behind his head now.

Ya if that’s real, scratch him off. What’s up with this pattern of already good shooters trying to remake their shots? Fultz, Bridges, Vassell? I was cooling on him anyways, but I’ll drop him off my list now.
It's far more likely he hasn't got the strength to heave it from 30 ft yet rather than having a new catapult hitch to his j .. I say that as I used to do the exact same thing, and could increase my range to the half way line using it even though i figured it looked odd.

What?
I can comfortably take a jumpshot from a standing position out to about 24 feet, which is about the distance they're shooting from. You're telling me an elite athlete who's 17 years my junior can't do the same?

Yeah, I understand for grade schoolers and even maybe early high schoolers but...

At best guess, yes - I too was an elite athlete, 6’6.5” with a 6’11 wingspan (the blackest white man alive, lol) albeit a very skinny one with not much upper body strength at the time.
Somewhat weirdly I had really strong legs - so much so that I was the national school boy shotput champion, meaning my long arms were an asset (longer hand-shotput contact through delivery).
You should have heard the competitors laugh at my skinny ass when I took my tracksuit top off, the bastards ..
If anyone cares (a valid question considering the self promotion taking place here .. ) I was the school champion of Hong Kong - not the largest country in the world but still with a population of about 6m at the time (1996), more than any of Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Norway, Denmark or New Zealand have today (heh, I just looked that up; not bad at all even though Asians are smaller ..)
