Arrogance is a lest admirable character trait. From the other side’s perspective Trump is the most arrogant person I can think of. He’s also one of the biggest bullies I can think of. I remember just posting in the Suns thread where I didn’t really like Barkley, Ainge or Bell when they played on other teams. When we got them I guess I enjoyed their antics because it was for the benefit of my team. I suppose being on the right, his antics are similar and as long as he’s doing it for your team they don’t seem as bad.
I doubt there has been a more arrogant president in US history. Maybe Jackson. But that is about it.
I think Trump has been arrogant in his life, but I don't think he's the arrogant person he once was. I can't think of a more arrogant Pres then Obama was/is though. And I continue to believe he's still pulling some of the strings in Washington.
that sounds very partisan of you. Obama had many flaws as president, but arrogance wasn't one of them.
Fair enough. I won't deny I'm partisan. I still think the guy was pretty arrogant.
You have seen these Mean Tweets before, right? They are performed with a script and acted out. You could say nearly everyone that reads them is "arrogant". They are a joke intended to make the audience laugh on Jimmy Kimmel. Have you read actual "mean" Tweets from Trump, whether replies to someone else or his own Tweets? I'm not sure where you're deriving arrogance from a scripted, funny mean Tweet read on Jimmy Kimmel. Again, those reactions are nearly all scripted and rehearsed.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

GOP leader McConnell finally acknowledges Biden won election
https://apnews.com/article/mitch-mcconn ... 33ee0dd725
WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell congratulated Democrat Joe Biden as president-elect on Tuesday, saying the Electoral College “has spoken.”

The Republican leader’s statement, delivered in a speech on the Senate floor, ends weeks of silence over President Donald Trump’s defeat. It came a day after electors met and officially affirmed Biden’s election win.

“I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden,” McConnell said.

“Many of us had hoped the presidential election would yield a different result,” he said. “But our system of government has the processes to determine who will be sworn in on Jan. 20. The Electoral College has spoken.”

McConnell called Biden someone “who has devoted himself to public service for many years.” He also congratulated Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, saying “all Americans can take pride that our nation has a female vice president-elect for the very first time.”

I think this is significant. McConnell is not a 'maverick' or 'outsider,' he's the epitome of the GOP right now. I hope this makes it the standard to accept the results. I don't think Trump will ever join that reality, unfortunately.
For his part, Trump continued to push his baseless claims of “voter fraud” in a new tweet on Tuesday.

There's almost an intellectual arrogance vs ignorant arrogance between the two. Trump is arrogant thru his ignorance and narcissism that he's #1 in everything. But there's a false bravado and true lack of confidence there. It's why he pushes himself to the front of the stage when standing with the rest of the world's leaders. Or rips the facemask off in defiance after getting out of the hospital. Or says outright, "total authority, none of the responsibility". He needs to be seen and feel that way for validation. Some view that as strong. Some seem to want the "strongman" autocrat who says "YOU'RE AMERICAN. YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT" when it's really "I don't care about you, I just want to stay in power".
That is a good way of describing it. Trump's arrogance is rooted in knowing he is a fraud. I mean, he wears lifts and lies about his height and weight because he is scared of who he actually is.
This is confirmed?
Which part? Trump says he is 6-3 and 236 pounds. Maybe he doesn't lie about his height and the other people around him lie and they are taller than they say. Obama says he is 6-1, and looks slightly taller than Trump (from all the photos on inauguration day 2017), especially if you account for his poofy hair style. You can look up the pictures and be the judge. As for the lifts, you can find plenty of pictures showing his heels, too. I think the first time I saw them was during his meeting in NK with Kim.

As for the weight, again, you can be the judge. He doesn't look like any 6-3, 236 pound person I have ever seen. He looks a lot heavier than I do, and that is saying a lot after this quarantine 15 I am carrying around (I am 5-11 223).

He does look heavier than 236. I never thought about the heal lifts. The guy is over 70. My father-in-law was 6'6" in his prime and my father was 6'3" in his prime, but both are in their 70's and are definitely much shorter than that now.

The press secretary isn't. But I think all 4 leaders (majority and minority) of congress have.

Good luck with that.

Like it or not, this election will be in the same box with 9/11 truthers, flat earthers, and the moon landing.

Unlike those, there are a number of people that will fight for their opinion on this. I don't know if anything will change, seems unlikely, and certainly something significant would have to happen for that to change. As it is we are all conformists to some extent, some more than others, so we'll all fall in line at some point.

I mean, I wouldn't say a flat-earther who finally admits he was wrong is conforming. He is just admitting the truth. Same here. There isn't evidence of fraud that resulted in a different person winning this election.

Trump antagonizes Republicans with Georgia fundraising ploy

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/12/1 ... ing-445207

President Donald Trump couldn’t make it any clearer: He needs his supporters to fork over cash for the all-important Georgia Senate runoff elections.

“We MUST defend Georgia from the Dems!” he wrote in one recent text message. “I need YOU to secure a WIN in Georgia,” he said in another. “Help us WIN both Senate races in Georgia & STOP Socialist Dems,” he pleaded a few days later.

There’s just one hitch: Trump’s new political machine is pocketing most of the dough — and the campaigns of the Georgia senators competing in the Jan. 5 races aren’t getting a cent.

The predicament has intensified broader concerns within the GOP that Trump will use his post-presidency to advance his own interests at the expense of the party. Trump has spent the last few weeks battering a pair of Republican governors who haven’t backed up his claims the presidency is being stolen from him, potentially imperiling their 2022 reelection prospects. He has repeatedly said Georgia's election system is rife with fraud, which could have the unintended consequence of chilling GOP turnout in the runoffs. And he has talked up a potential 2024 comeback bid, freezing the field of would-be future Republican presidential hopefuls.

The problem with partnering with a scorpion is that it might just decide to sting you to death, regardless of consequences.

The problem with partnering with a con man is that they probably don't care if you eventually become the target of the con.

It depends on your point of view. Sometimes Trump helps Democrats and hurts Republicans. Not that he cares.

It's almost like millions of people, including the GOP, were saying this stuff about Trump before and during the 2016 primary.
