Around the League: Week 1 12/22-12/27
Re: Around the League: Week 1 12/22-12/27
Teams don't typically lose like that at random.

Maybe they can cut it to 25 in the 3rd.
By the way, is there any word on Kawhi and what the injury actually is/how long he'll be out? If it is a broken jaw like some guessed, it has to be a couple months at least.

Either of you mind telling the rest of us what book it is from? Princess Bride?Indy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 2:15 pmIt has literally been decades since I last read this, but it was one of my fav books back then. I should re-read it.

Count of Monte Cristo. Never read it, but enjoyed the movie.

Saw the original and didn't care for it. I heard the newer one was a bit better. But it is a book with a lot of characters, and it is really hard to do in movie form. It is the ultimate "man wronged and does whatever it takes to plan untimely comeuppance for his enemies" story. Dumas wrote it really well and it just makes you keep turning the pages.

I usually hate the NBA TV broadcasts, but I think Jimmy Jackson does a good job. Not so much about the games being played, but about the league in general.

Nobody said he sucks. I said he isn't a best player on a championship team, and hasn't shown himself to be great when it matters. He is a great regular season player. But if you are building a playoff roster, he isn't a top 5 forward.

124-73, Mavs over Clippers.
Window is open again ... blue skies ahead?

Buy newer one do you mean the almost 20 year old version with Caviezel and Pearce?Indy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 3:32 pm

Yeah. I think there was a really old one (like 30s/40s?) and an old one (maybe even a made-for-tv, not sure), then the most recent one. I call it recent because it was this century, and I don't want to call it old.Cap wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 6:34 pmThat’s the version I was referring to.carey wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 6:21 pmBuy newer one do you mean the almost 20 year old version with Caviezel and Pearce?Indy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 3:32 pm

I also just did a google search and it looks like another might be moving into pre-pre-production.

One of my great memories as a kid was watching The Three Musketeers movie (1973) followed by The Four Musketeers (they couldn't fit it all into one movie) a year later.Indy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 3:32 pmSaw the original and didn't care for it.
