Game Day: Suns (3-1) @ Jazz (2-1), Thurs 12/31/20

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (6:00 pm PT/9:00 pm ET)
Place: Vivint Smart Home Arena, Salt Lake City, UT
TV: FSAZ/NBATV

Last game of the year! Happy New Year to all! This will be a good test against a very good team in their home arena. We're going to have to be physical with Gobert and attempt to keep him off the glass. Let's hope Booker bounces back against his rival, Mitchell.

Go Suns!!!

big one this
think the two preseason games might still help in preparation for tonight and having our full rotation now should make the difference as Jae was still getting up to speed, Payne missed one and Dario obviously missed both.

I will always back the starters against anybody but we know how integral our bench play is, Jazz not very deep IMO as the 2nd unit is just the Clarkson show most nights. his usage is crazy and he just looks to score every time when he checks in so need Payne to have another good defensive game or Jevon but our defensive rotations were very good last game so hopefully more of the same tonight

Mitchell has not had a good season so far, so I expect him to try to force things.

Not feeling good vibes on this one. Suns lose in what is probably going to be the most frustrating game of the early season.

Excited to watch this one. I bet Paul and Booker don't have as quiet a night as they had in our last game.

Barometer game for Ayton. He has really struggled with Gobert in the past. I need to see him start holding his own (at least) in this matchup.

Agree. Very interested to see how things start off with him and if he's prepared.

I think DA will come out with aggression, but it will end up getting him into early foul trouble. Regardless, I think the Suns will win tonight.

I think this will be MUCH different from the preseason and expect a pretty convincing win.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

If that happens, watch out! It could be dangerous around here. Expectations will begin to rocket.

And if we were to win the next two? Hoo boy. (Let's not get ahead of ourselves, 'Bone.)

Key to the game will be which big gets in foul trouble first. If it’s DA, Saric will have a tough time with Gobert.

Lol. It’s a prove me wrong type of situation at this point. I predicted a W though!

Ayton had his best game of the young season last game. Let's hope he builds on that although his record is not good against Gobert.

Isn't this you every game Wally ? :) :)
you might be just using the lowered expectations approach to not set yourself up for disappointment which is understandable but just wondering what your concerns are 8-)

I think he's superstitious. We might be seeing a lot of that from Wally this year... Followed by a Suns Win video at the end of each thread. :D

In his 4 career games against Utah, he is averaging 11.8 points and 7.5 rebounds... and 0.25 FTA.
