He is off to a great start. He is playing on the level that the Suns need.
You have been, by far, the most critical of Mikal on this site, and been pretty vocal about him not being worth the 2 picks we paid to get him. Is that still the case?

If we get this Mikal Bridges for the entire season, then no, that still won't be the case.

72.9% TS and zero turnovers for the entire season? I’m guessing no.

Yeah, wow, I've heard of high expectations but that is ridiculous!

If we get a legit starter with this level of defense and 12ppg on +38% from 3, I think 2 first round picks is a wash. If we start getting 15-18 ppg and 40% from three, we are definitely ahead.

I need the second scenario. If Bridges brings the D along with 15-16 ppg and shooting 38-40% from distance, then I am satisfied.
I think Monty said they added/tweaked some things defensively and Mikal said they wanted to make Gobert more of a playmaker. Gobert got his numbers but I don't feel like he impacted the game all that much. Might've been different if we weren't hitting our shots I guess.
Yea he's lucky he didn't have to try to battle on the glass against this guy all night
Excuse me being silly but y'all know I gotta drop one a day
Mikal's not worth 30mil right now. He'd have to really expand his game as a ballhandler and show more off-the-dribble scoring on a consistent basis.
Oh for sure, but he’s improving every year. We need to lock him into a deal next offseason because his price is only gonna go up if we wait. Guys like Anunoby were getting 4/72 I believe? Bridges will be around 20 million a year I think.

If the first 6 games of Bridges is what his ceiling is as a player (15 pts, 5 rbs, 2 stocks on +40% from 3 on 6 attempts), he is worth that contract. He could be the new Marion (always take the best player 2-4 on the opposing team, score 15-20 without any set plays).
Mikal is and was at the time worth a mid 1st and late 1st rnd pick. He's looking even better right now.
