Game Day: Suns (6-3) @ Pacers (6-2), Sat 1/9/21
Re: Game Day: Suns (6-3) @ Pacers (6-2), Sat 1/9/21
Nice response from Mikal, who came ready to play. Book looking for his shot more tonight which is a good sign. He needs to keep attacking the rim. CP was looking for his shot a bit too. The midrange pullup is there whenever he wants it.

Close game, Pacers up 32-30, a lot of back and forth. Paul came in with a minute left in the 1st which was a bit earlier to play with Carter, Gallo, Cam and Dario. Some nice ball movement but a few missed 3s by Gallo, Cam and Dario.

Man, that Sabonis is a great PF. He's good. I wish the Suns could have ever had a chance at him. I'd say he's almost as good as, say, Chriss or Bender. But not quite.

I don’t like Aytons body language right now. Looks asleep.

Cam just jump stop and shoot at the FT line. No stupid floaters. Damn

Cam is kind of chucking it a lot in the 1st half. Some are good looks but I think he's shooting too much.
Ayton is essentially a non-factor in this game. No points and only 3 boards and easy to forget that he's even out there.

I criticized Chris Paul earlier in this thread or one of the others. But I think he's had a nice first half. 8 points on 4/4 shooting and 5 assists. He's had some nice passes to guys cutting or for open shots. Doing a good job.
Re: Game Day: Suns (6-3) @ Pacers (6-2), Sat 1/9/21
Fun first half overall with a lot of offense but some good defense too. Both teams playing quickly, Suns playing faster than recent games. Paul is dribbling less and setting guys up for shots or just stepping into the jumper. His midrange softens the defense up and keeps us steady when the 3s aren't falling and the team hits a lull. It's what separates him from Rubio and we need more of it.
Mikal and Cam have stepped up offensively. Cam's missed a few 3s but still a really good half. Saric, Carter and Gallo saw the rest of the bench minutes. Interestingly Bridges is the starter with a negative +-/-.
I think the Pacers are close mostly because Holiday got hot early on. Sabonis and Oladipo haven't hurt us that much. Brogdan's had a good game going up against Book.
Hopefully no fatigue from last night in the 2nd half.

Crowder is doing well here in the 3rd. 10 points and 9 boards so far.
I notice that E'Twaun Moore has not entered the game.

Dipo just yammed on Mikal. Sabonis starting to go to work and the smaller bench group is getting outplayed.

Sabonis gonna have 25 boards...that’s been a killer

Games like this remind me why I’d like to move on from Ayton

Pacers are beating the zone with 1 pass so I’m not sure what the strategy is

Feel like Indy has gotten every rebound off their missed free throws

Sabonis going for 30 points and 30 rebounds tonight. Anyone going to even try to guard him or put a body on him for a rebound?!
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Everything Ayton does is lackadaisical and half speed. So annoying

Ayton playing soft...made a layup..it was uncontested, so that’s fine, but then goes up soft the next play and gets rejected by Turner. I have no idea why it’s so hard for Ayton to finish strong.
