He was garbage. The best he ever did was an Elite 8 appearance. Never got them to a Final 4 in his 12 years. Year after year I wondered why they kept him around, beyond the shady shit he was doing behind the scenes when it came to recruiting. Such an overrated coach.Indy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 6:07 pmHe's been there like 12 years? What have they done in those 12 years? They have had multiple 1 or 2 seeds, and never got out of their region.
it will be hard to find a good coach when your program has under achieved for a decade. Maybe they will get lucky like we did with Monty.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Miller's record was a mixed bag. I don't think it's fair to say that he did a garbage job running the team. He got us a lot of good recruits, and we were a relevant team most of the years he coached. His teams underperformed in the tournament, for sure, but the tournament is such a crapshoot that I find it hard to completely blame a coach for those results. Strong recruiter, mediocre actual game coach, is my take. Add in the ethical problems and misconduct and I think it's good to move on.

Raps really just need to tank...lost season for them. At best they sneak into the play in games and snag the 8 seed to get swept by Brooklyn. Go get a good player in the draft. They have a nice future core of FVV/Trent/OG/Siakim/Boucher.Ring_Wanted wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 10:13 amHe'd be a tremendous pick up for us. Don't really see the point for the Raps.

It might be a family thing. Orlando to Tampa is about a 90 minute drive (I know of people that commute between the two). Would be really easy to quit a high-paying job in Orlando and get an equally high-paying job in Tampa and not have to move your family.Split T wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 10:56 amRaps really just need to tank...lost season for them. Ya and perhaps Khem wants to stay long term. He is Canadian I believe.Indy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 11:48 amIt might be a family thing. He did nothing for the program. He was a good recruiter, that’s about it. Horrible in-game coach, bad attitude, not involved in the community, and his teams underperformed each year. Then on top of it he was drowning in corruption and controversy. If you don’t think that’s garbage then I would love to see what you think is garbage. Maybe that’s good for Most, but we’re talking about a premier program.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 10:53 amMiller's record was a mixed bag. C'mon you can't say that. He got them banned from the NCAA tournament. That's something!specialsauce wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 11:58 amHe did nothing for the program. This was a banner year for the U of A men's basketball team!
Re: Around the League: Week 14 3/22-3/28
Sigh. I guess we are not going to pick up another player and add more money to this team. Birch would've been perfect indeed. I just watched half of the Houston game and the inability to rebound was painful to see.
Re: Around the League: Week 14 3/22-3/28
Are we allowed to claim him on waivers if we waive Moore? I feel like the answer is no. He's got a $3M salary and we don't have cap room.
Re: Around the League: Week 14 3/22-3/28
Can you claim someone into an exception? He’d fit under the BAE I believe
Re: Around the League: Week 14 3/22-3/28
I hate cheering for the Lakers, but I really want them to hang in that 5-6 range...preferably 5...need every win they can get with Lebron/AD out.

The longer LeBron and AD miss these games to finish the regular season, the more I think it would be better to play them earlier than later in the playoffs.

I’m fine letting someone else take care of that for us. Nuggets seem like a great option for that.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 7:11 pmThe longer LeBron and AD miss these games to finish the regular season, the more I think it would be better to play them earlier than later in the playoffs.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.
Re: Around the League: Week 14 3/22-3/28
Let's be nice. Book knocked knees with Leonard and then I saw him with his left hand wrapped up when he was sitting on the bench. No bad juju here.
