Game Day: Kings (22-33) @ Suns (39-15), Thurs 4/15/21

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (7:00 pm PT/10:00 pm ET)
Place: Phoenix Suns Arena, Phoenix, AZ
TV: BSAZ, NBALP

The Kings are coming in on an eight game losing slump. We can't let these guys hang around. Just put them out of their misery early and let the bench play.

Go Suns!!!

what are the chances we do this? 75% chance that they are within 10 points in the last 3 minutes?

De'Aaron Fox has been on a tear this year. He's scored 30 or more 16 times, and over 40 three times. He is also doing it on the best eFG% of his career (52.7%).

When he scores efficiently, the Kings win. Of his 30-point games, 11 came on shooting 50% or higher and the Kings won 7 of those 11. And they only have 6 wins all year when he shoots under 50% (regardless of how much he scores).

Who spends the most time on him tonight?

What can I say? I'm an optimist.

BTW, it was pretty hilarious when you predicted the Heat game by that overall chart and how eerily close it was to reality.

Mikal. Although Fox is very fast. Nobody on our team individually can stay in front of him. Going to need a team effort.

We should guard Halliburton with Jalen Smith. I'm sure he will be ready to shut him down for 30+ minutes tonight, along with giving us great scoring, passing, playmaking, and overall hustle and play. Oh wait, completely not that.

Would love if we could see any positives at all in Jalen Smiths minutes, I’m desperate at this point.

I guarantee you we would win this game if we replaced Crowder with Smith in the starting lineup and played him for 36 minutes there.

I wish we still had DJJ. Surprised that he got an MLE offer, but if we had him on a 5 mil per multi-season deal he'd be our designated stopper for a lot of these uber athletic and fast guys. I remember him giving Westbrook issues.

Yo, does Damien Jones just travel to and sign with teams that are about to play the Suns?

Did he take 31 shots to get to 40 points?

Actually just looked it up, he put up 22, 27, and 30 shots in those three games. I guess he's a better player than Dort.

I understand the Haliburton situation, surely has not been an ideal start for Jalen
But Haliburton has slowed down quite a bit tbh and I am not particularly interested in seeing him have his first good game in a while tonight

It's nice to see Carter playing so well. I had just about given up on him, but Coach does a good job of taking guys on the edge of the rotation and making them feel invested in the team.

I'm not watching the game live but Carter is one of my favorite players on the team so I'm glad to see your reactions to his game. The Suns broadcast does mention over the past few games about him getting the green light to shoot. Knowing that you aren't going to be pulled for perceived mistakes is clearly giving him more confidence, which in turn is keeping him on the court to bring intensity on the other side of the ball, and I'm very happy to see the development.
