Game Day Playoff Edition: Suns (1-2) @ Lakers (2-1), Sunday 5/30/21
Time: 12:30 pm AZ (12:30 pm PT/3:30 pm ET)
Place: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
TV: ABC
Yuuuuuge Game, we continue to struggle with how to use CP3 and it has had a domino effect on our team performance. DA and Book were rising above having a limited CP3 but last game Book unraveled having a forgettable game. Lakers were sure to let all of our players know that we were taking a "L" so we really need to have a bounce back performance. Our shooting been a head scratcher but I really can't deal with us losing in the hustle areas because after a team showboat on you, plus being down 1-2 there should be no reason why we shouldn't be out there with that Bubble Suns relentless play and energy.
Go Suns!!

This is it. We've got to throw everything we've got at this one. Let it fly. Don't worry about the refs. Play our game. The refs are going to job us so just know that going in. Be physical. Impose our will.
Are we going to go out with a whimper or a bang? We going to tie this thing up or go out in a "gentleman's" sweep?
Go SUNS!!!

I think we've handled Paul's injury poorly. I know hindsight is 20/20, but I wish we would have just sat him. And now, facing the prospect of going down 3-1, I doubt the Suns brass will have the guts to sit him.
Looks like Suns fans will join Rockets fans at the proverbial sports bar, lamenting what could have been if not for Paul getting injured...

I get giving it a chance going in to game 2. Once it was obvious he was a liability he should have been pulled and not played. He should have sat out game 3

If they aren't going to sit Paul, they should at least be saving him for the 4th quarter. Bring him in for the last 8 minutes of the game. Winning time is when we need him the most.

Didn't Luka drop nearly 40 in that game? I don't think he has the same injury as Paul...

That is such a cop out; you've seen the same train wreck in three straight games. THAT is what you can go off of.

I wish they would just sit Chris Paul. He clearly can't play and is a liability out there. I'd rather have Payne start and Moore as backup. At least both of those guys can shoot and score. Moore might really help our bench offense.
This game is huge for the series. As bleak as things have seemed, if we win Game 4, we reclaim home court advantage and just have to win out in Phoenix to take the series. I haven't given up.

Hopefully Devin Booker is inspired by Jayson Tatum.

Home court advantage doesn't matter. The Lakers have no problem going to Phoenix and winning games there. The main reason the Suns need to win Game 4 is because winning 3 straight with a gimpy Chris Paul is a HUGE hill to climb.

Monty said today in his presser that head athletic trainer Roberto Sarverello indeed confirmed that Chris has two arms. One of his arms- could not confirm which- has either died while still attached or is totally fine and even so he will still have a second arm if needed and should be ready to go.

Thanks for making the game day thread, bajanguy008!
Suns are gonna win this game. They’re gonna win this game, go back to Phoenix and win on Tuesday, then they are going to win game six in LA and everyone will say what a great series it was.

All or nothing, death or glory etc
For the Suns the stakes are as high as they can be in round 1. If we lose, the series is gone. Win and we are in it up to our eyeballs.
It means more to us than the Lakers so there should be no excuse for being out worked or out hustled - every loose ball and long rebound we gotta fight like hell for it.
(I’m also not against using a hard foul early on Schroeder to give him second thoughts about driving the lane.)

Never wanted Paul to play after he hurt his shoulder. I stated we should put JC out there for 3 and D or Etwan and let CP3 rest on Monday and Thursday then come back on Sunday. We were going to loose that game with Paul hurt and we did. Now it makes it harder for us to come back as he doesn't have the time to heal now.
