I wonder if he may have been a better target than Landry. They got similar deals.

Would have meant no McGee, but we could have had Whiteside for the minimum and he looks just fine as a backup for the Jazz. Or Drummond. We also could have flipped Javon and the pick for something else. Bagley?

Shamet or Caruso is interesting. It's possible James Jones got too deep into the forest with the acquisition of Landry since it's been documented that they've been trying to get him for a while.

Whiteside has been a losing player for a long time. I'm not crazy about McGee, but he's definitely better in the locker room and on the court. Drummond, eh, whatever..

I don't understand the fascination with Bagley. He's not really shown to be consistently good in the NBA, and we already have a project at his position.

Bagley has been a 20/10 guy per-36 his whole career. He shot a respectable 34% from 3 last year. I know the D is rough but he’s so much more promising than Jalen Smith if he can get it to click and he’d be a big upgrade over Nader for the 10th man in the rotation.

He feels like a guy who could really benefit from a move to a more stable organization.

Hard pass on Bagley... so much baggage. His dad is a poor man's version of Lavar.

Lonzo and LaMelo turned out OK.

I just cant shake my Marquese Chriss vibe with Bagley. I'm sure a lot of followers of other teams were thinking a lot of the same things about Chriss when he was on the outs in Phoenix, but a lot of Suns fans knew his limitations.

I know it's the Kings, but it's just a major red flag when a team gives up on a top 5 pick that quickly.

The Ball kids are crushing it. Even LiAngelo is somehow getting a G-League check.

Was watching Caruso last night thinking asking myself why the Lakers let him leave. Would've been a great fit there and helped keep them a bit younger. I guess they wanted "win now" vets.

Or maybe he wanted to go somewhere where he would get twice as much playing time?

For sure, but he had the offer from the Bulls and gave the Lakers a chance to counter, which they declined. They had his Bird Rights as well I think.

In general I liked the Lakers set of role players better last year. They had a nasty defense and a bunch of guys who could hit 3s. It was hard for us to beat them last year.

If Bagley is released, then I would take a flier on him. Otherwise, I'm not trading anything for him.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to give up Smith for him. Maybe a future 2nd-rounder and a bantha fodder contract or something, but nothing more.

It feels like there have been long gaps between games. I need my Suns fix!
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Dude! We are like brothers from another mother. I just laid down the same sentiment in the around the league thread. Finally we play tomorrow. Makes it especially tough with our rough start. If we feel this way, imagine how the players feel!

Ceiling is higher, floor for both is out of the league in 2 years. So yeah, it makes sense. But I wouldn't give up a pick and Smith for him.

But doesn't he make like 10M/year?

Quarter century for Book. I’ll have the game day thread up in a few minutes.
