Every game Mikal is showing what he can do on the defensive side of the ball. When he was on 7-3 KP last night, he went 0-4 and he got 2 steals. When he was on 6 foot Brunson, he went 0-4 and got a block. It is really impressive. The guys he has problems with are like Dame or a thick PF. But man, who can guard Dame or Steph?
It would have been nice if he could guard Middleton, though.

After a slow start on the season, Suns are steadily climbing league efficiency ratings. Now among the league leaders:

Or we had anyone that could guard Giannis all series. Or anyone that could have stopped Jrue in Game 5. Ugh.

Well ESPN recently had this little nugget:
Ayton held NBA Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo to 53% shooting as the primary defender in the Finals, while Antetokounmpo shot 70% against the rest of the Suns.

Things really took a dark turn there. It’s still kind of raw for Me to think about that series and I might be delusional but I still think the refs favored Giannis, anybody so much as breath on him hard and it’s a foul. But they did come up clutch and I congratulate them for the win. But I refuse to pin the loss on our guys. If anything I blame the front office for not finding a real backup 4/5 so Ayton can play with more confidence on D.

"Holding" someone to 53% shooting is not good. Yeah Ayton might have been better than Cam Payne, but c'mon. Nobody did anything to deter him, including Ayton.

Am I weird that I still think about the Jalen Smith pick a few times a week and get annoyed?

Watching Devin Vassell thriving lately is bringing it to the surface.

I heard a theory that it was Jeff Bowers that selected him, and that is why he is no longer employed by the Suns.

It was certainly a fireable offense.

Well he shot 57% for the playoffs, so he held him below his average.

All of the starting centers in every round of the playoffs kept him below his playoff average. That is just how it works.

Suns need to make a move in the next couple months. Craig is sorely missed. Nader still sucks, Frank is out. A competent player who will help keep the squad fresh through the playoffs.

A precursor to a more serious injury like a stress fracture, so inflammation in the injured area.
