I think he has more drives to the basket this year than 85% of our team.Shabazz wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 1:02 pmThat play was enough for me to want to see him get a stab in the rotation while we're shorthanded.bajanguy008 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 12:36 pmShout out to Wainwright on the blow by and easy two with his first touch

The other two times he touched the ball and when he set a pick up game screen that got called for a foul were enough for me to hope he's only in the game because the Suns are up 20+.Shabazz wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 1:02 pmThat play was enough for me to want to see him get a stab in the rotation while we're shorthanded.bajanguy008 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 12:36 pmShout out to Wainwright on the blow by and easy two with his first touch

Ha. Yeah, you could tell he was a little over-eager to score his first points and get involved.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 2:31 pmThe other two times he touched the ball and when he set a pick up game screen that got called for a foul were enough for me to hope he's only in the game because the Suns are up 20+.Shabazz wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 1:02 pmThat play was enough for me to want to see him get a stab in the rotation while we're shorthanded.bajanguy008 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 12:36 pmShout out to Wainwright on the blow by and easy two with his first touch

Still, I like the energy and the mindset and he's got good size. Put him in the Nader-role with the rotation players as opposed to the scrubs and see what happens. Against the Spurs is a low-risk test environment.

Fwiw wainwright is on a 2-way contract and can only be active for 25 days before we address that contract situation, no?
Re: Game Day: Suns (12-3) vs Nuggets (9-7), Sunday 11/21/2021
Right. It’s not a straight 25 days but 25 specific days is my understanding. What I mean is that we can’t just throw him in to develop him but to preserve the available time for when we actually need bodies if we are to pinch pennies… which seems to be a theme of the Sarver era.

Or is the 25 day thing totally off the table? Guess I should look it up.
Re: Game Day: Suns (12-3) vs Nuggets (9-7), Sunday 11/21/2021
Ok I looked it up. The two way contract was originally for 45 days spent with the team, which was changed to 50 games with the team, and was then further modified during the pandemic season to be totally without restriction, so you are right ‘bazz. I’m confused tho, what is the difference between that and a regular rotation spot other than a cheaper salary… or do we effectively have 17 roster spots on teams now?

It really isn’t different if you keep them with the main club. You can still send them down and they get g league wages I believe. But we don’t have a g league team so we are just using them as cheap extra roster spotspickle wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 6:29 pmOk I looked it up.
