A lot has to happen before you can count having Ben Simmons as a plus again.

Meh, James Jones doesn’t care about the draft anyways. We also just locked Booker up through 2028, so basically the entire time our picks would be traded. Also KD is signed through 2026. Could it fall apart and wreck us? Of course, but we’d still be left with KD and Booker who we can trade. Yes Brooklyn failed with the KD, Kyrie, and Harden and the Harden trade looks bad in hindsight, but they are going to replace the picks they sent Houston with our picks and they still have Simmons, Curry, and probably Bridges and whatever Ayton gets them. They won’t be in as bad of shape as some are making it out to be.
Agreed. The window is now, it’s time to push all of our chips into the middle of the table and go for this. It’s not like we’re just trading for some borderline all-Star or something, we’re trading for a top 5 player in the league right now, who will go down as an all-time great in the NBA and will instantly become the best player in our franchise’s history. It’s a no-brainer for me.

True, Brooklyn won't be in completely horrible shape. But they can do something we won't be able to do: trade KD for substantial draft assets. If we get KD and compete for a few years, after that, he'll be 38-39 years old and will likely be retiring or won't have nearly the same trade value. No way we can flip him for multiple 1sts at that point.

Ya I just think it’s worth the 4 year title window it opens for us. We could still flip Booker 4 years from now for a huge haul if we need to

You don’t think a 36 year old KD would still be good?

It'll be 4-5 years when Lillard gets here.

Good? Sure. But just being good won't be enough. We'll need him to be a superstar level. And that doesn't even touch on whether he'll actually be able to stay on the court. We've seen it with CP3. He has been playing through injuries during the playoffs the last two seasons.

He’ll be almost 37 for the playoffs in the third season. And there’s no guarantee he’ll age like LeBron (who’s even had more health issues himself lately).

Y’all thought I was crazy for not wanting to trade the whole team for KD. At least I’m willing to give up the draft picks and expirings for him!

If it’s some how possible to do this trade without Bridges, I don’t understand how someone can be against this.

CP3/Book/Bridges/KD

I don’t care who the C is

I think the deal is going to go down in a few days because Flex said to expect fireworks on the 4th.

The Diamondbacks won it all in 2001 by mortgaging the future and I feel it was worth it.

If we keep Bridges and are sending out Cam J and a SnT Ayton, who else needs to be included in the trade to make the $ work? can we keep either Crowder or Saric?

Well it depends, we have to get to about 35 million. If Ayton signs a max, him and Cam J would be enough outgoing salary to make it doable. 3rd team would probably need cap space though or we’d need to send more out. If Ayton signs for less than the max, we could do it with Payne or Craig…assuming he’s signing for at least 25 million.
