Mony and DA deserve all the smoke for this. Two grown men acting like babies (assuming neither has reached out and been rebuffed by the other).

Maybe we should just do a 1 year tank, get a high pick, trade CP3 and Ayton and build around Booker/Bridges /CamJ and whatever we get in the draft/trades
Booker isn’t going for that. It’s compete or not at all at this point. If it all goes to pot, I hope we can send DA for SGA.
I was just joking, we’re obviously not tanking.

"Are you hoping that changes soon?" "I'm here."

In other words, if he wants to talk to me I'm here. This is on Monty.

I think it’s on both of them

This is the earlier part of that same conversations. You get to see the fun side of him before he hears Monty's name. Uh oh.

You could tell there was a problem yesterday before he even spoke. Monty, Paul and Book all came from the right side of the room and all left that way. DA came from the left and left that way. They were actively avoiding each other. Even their Sarver answers were different. Monty, Paul and Book all basically said the same thing, but in their own way. DA's was different, like he wasn't part of the huddle before the play.

I think it’s just a Ayton and Monty thing at this point, maybe Chris too but hard to tell with him. I’ve seen a few videos and pics on Reddit/twitter over the summer of the Ayton, Mikal, Book and CamJ playing pick up games and hanging out, so I’m not worried about them. They all seemed pretty genuine talking about DA yesterday.

They both do but I expect much more from Monty. DA is still a young dumb kid, Monty is 50 year old man who just won coach of the year. Monty has to be the bigger man here. He’s the damn coach after all.

If neither have reached out, I would say it is mostly Monty. But we don't know if either tried.

But Gambo's "kid" comment is so funny. Isn't DA older than his wife?

Monty did not try to reach out. He says in the clip above that he was trying to leave people alone over the summer.

He actually seemed genuinely shocked when Duane told him, "it sounds like you need to have a talk with him."

Like I've said before, Monty is much too stubborn.

Perhaps there is a pattern here. Maybe the front office truly, obliviously believed that everything was okay between Jae Crowder and the team like James Jones claimed recently. And so they were just expecting him to show up to camp and didn't think a trade was something necessary or urgent.

And now they're unaware of any relationship problems with DA.

This almost feels like we're back in the McDonough era of relationship management.

You've got all the guys together now for a couple days and you STILL haven't had any conversation with Ayton? TF?
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Hey, if we can get an angry Ayton on the court, I am all for it!

Some casual shitty dad move here for a guy who presents himself to be a role model.
