Thunder should be fired up for this one, and we're on a back-to-back, and it's New Year's Eve. I'm worried. I feel like we could get absolutely stomped here.
On paper I actually think we match up with OKC pretty well: We have the athleticism to keep up with them, we have decent perimeter defenders, we have good depth to exploit their shaky bench, and they don't have a dominant big-man to exploit or lack of size, etc. But the Suns always struggle against teams with superstar scorers for some reason. Guys like Westbrook and Durant always have big nights against us; we never seem to slow them down anymore now that the Raja Bell / Jared Dudley era is firmly behind us. So I think we could be in for a long night especially if Durant plays.

Is Oklahoma stil a dry state? I did a gig there a long time ago and people would have to bring their own alcohol into the club with their name on it and pay a bartender to pour their drinks. Weird.

It may have dry counties but a whole state can't be dry can it?
Go Suns!

I think if I could pick one PF in the league that would be most ideal for our roster going forward, it would be Ibaka.
Re: Game Day: Suns (18-15) @ Thunder (15-17), Wed 12/31/14
Ibaka is a freaking beast. I love that dude. They are so fortunate (and savvy) to have picked him up in the draft.

No idea. They have weird drinking laws in Utah too. If you go into a bar in Salt Lake and want to order another drink because yours is almost empty they won't serve you until you have completely finished that drink first.carey wrote:It may have dry counties but a whole state can't be dry can it?

I just moved to Salt Lake City a couple of years ago, and alot of those kinds of weird laws have either gone away or been relaxed (thankfully!). The first time I came here years and years ago, you had to buy a "membership" to get into a bar. I think having the Olympics here helped get rid of that. There's still some weird stuff, but for the most part, it's much more normal.Nodack wrote:No idea. They have weird drinking laws in Utah too. He shoots 3s now, too. 1.4 makes a game on almost 41%.Mori Chu wrote:Ibaka is a freaking beast. I love that dude. They are so fortunate (and savvy) to have picked him up in the draft.

Down 1 after 1st qtr, but I like the pace of the game so far (30-29).

Can't imagine we'll keep up this shooting in the second half.

Didn't Whataburger use to give $150 to Suns Charities for each 3PM? How come Fulton is so cheap?

Fuck that little bitch. God I love Len. He's got all the attitude I always wished Amare and Gortat would show.

The Thunder (mostly Westbrick and Durant) chuck way more than we do, but they get away with it because the guys chucking are top-10 NBA players. And they get some serious home cooking from the refs. They just bowl into you and try to draw the foul. Irritating.
