You'd be sacrificing a lot of rebounding and defense with that lineup.
A LOT.
A LOT.

Lamar ain't the sharpest tool in the shed.LazarusLong wrote: ↑Sat Nov 26, 2022 3:49 pmThis, of course, is the same Odom was hospitalized in 2015 after being discovered unconscious at the Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Nevada. Odom, who binged on cocaine in the days prior to his medical emergency, suffered kidney failure, several heart attacks, and 12 strokes. He became comatose and was placed on life support in a hospital in Las Vegas before regaining consciousness. Fortunately, he recovered, but his judgment on social issues is perhaps questionable, at best ...Superbone wrote: ↑Sat Nov 26, 2022 3:38 pmCome on, dude. You have NO idea of his origin story.
Lamar Odom thinks Suns having a gorilla mascot is racist: ‘Slid that one by’

The Gorilla predates Sarver by 20+ years, and he (Henry Rojas) was hired by the Suns BECAUSE HE WAS FUNNY.
Besides, it's better than the Diamondbacks having Bobcat. That's purely for $$$ reasons.

Rebounding and defense from who? We wouldn’t be trading anyone form our rotation to get him. He’d take the Cam Johnson spot in the starting lineup…not exactly someone providing a ton of rebounding or defense. You could even have him come off the bench if he’s willing and run the 2nd unit. Or start him and bring CP3 off the benchThe Bobster wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 9:52 amYou'd be sacrificing a lot of rebounding and defense with that lineup.

Oh hell yeahSplit T wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 8:59 amWas reading an article about the Bulls tanking and started wondering if Derozan would be available and then this popped up…I wouldn’t give up 3 1sts for Derozan, but would you send Crowder/Saric/Shamet and 2 1sts for him? Maybe Jae goes somewhere else and adds another pick to Chicago?
If they (correctly) wanted to prioritize the future, the Bulls could trade DeRozan to a playoff team that’d absolutely love to fold an unstoppable late-game shot creator into its arsenal. Would the Suns offer a few expiring contracts and (up to) three first-round picks, as a contender that’s trying to salvage the back end of Chris Paul’s prime? Their defense would be an issue and the offensive fit isn’t obvious on paper. Sure. But good luck stopping Paul, Devin Booker, DeRozan, Mikal Bridges, and Deandre Ayton at the same time. There’d be enough shooting and playmaking here to create multiple headaches on every play.

Wait so will he no longer be the GM? As I’ve seen it, the gm is the guy on the phone making moves and taking over seeing the roster. Will he be stepping away from that?

From the suns Instagram, it’s says he’s president and GM. So I think it’s just him having a little more clout and responsibility.
Seems like no news to me.

Could be…or they could just be waiting to announce the new GM and Jones will do both for now. Did we even have a president of basketball operations before today? I assume Jones was already doing both and this is just them transitioning him to the new title and they will either promote someone from within or bring in a new hire to the front office.MightyMoog wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 10:51 amFrom the suns Instagram, it’s says he’s president and GM. Or I guess they could just be giving Jones the title of the position he’s been doing since Bowers left

Re: Suns News: Week 6 (11/21 - 11/27)
Can’t see how a new GM would be able to influence Jones on the no draft picks part tho. Also given that our entire front office staff is like 12 people, are they really gonna hire another guy who will likely be expensive and want to bring in his own people?
Re: Suns News: Week 6 (11/21 - 11/27)
You have to assume Jones is absolutely against draft picks for that to be true and that’s not the case. He’s drafted people in the past and even traded into the draft…
What I envision is him hiring someone to handle the draft entirely. That person would be in charge of all non-nba scouting and determining our draft boards. There is still obviously communication and Jones has his input, but I get the feeling Jones just doesn’t enjoy that aspect of the job and might be more open to it if there is someone dedicated to running that part. Jones can still trade the pick if he thinks it’s the right call, but having a GM in his ear telling him about guys he’s excited about can’t hurt imo.
I’d also say that our small numbers in the front office lends itself to adding a GM with some of his own people easier.
Re: Suns News: Week 6 (11/21 - 11/27)
When do we start to think that CP3’s heel soreness might actually have some achilles tendon involvement? He obviously didn’t rupture it, but maybe compromised some of the connecting tissue and were being extra cautious?
