Nice read.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

so is there any reason to take THAT guy seriously?Indy wrote:So you think that our best team going forward includes Ennis but not Goran or Bledsoe?Trade em: Green, Thomas, Bledsoe, Plumlee.

Re: Suns News: Week 11 1/5-1/11
my only advice to mcdo is to NOT trade green or tucker for a lateral move or to get more picks. if the suns lose green in the offseason for nothing, so be it.INFORMER wrote:The Suns are at a point where they have to be more disciplined and calculating about who they retain.
The Suns have a roster full of good and solid players. But it just doesn't feel like they are building a roster with the thought process of:
1. What does it take to contend?
2. What talent is readily available in the league?
3. What skill sets are premium?
I'm sure some will argue that they are doing that, or that they have been doing that, but I just don't see it. That just seem to be too easily impressed. A player plays nice and they seem to be ready to commit valuable resources to him without asking "how far are we going to get with this guy?"
if mcdo needs to do a trade, trade one of the PGs or the rookies/sophomore players that are not getting playing time.
but in the end, suns dont need to get rid of anybody for now, just add one more big man.
the suns arent going to win the championship this year, but making the playoffs is a step in the right direction. become a top ten team first, then you might attract quality free agents to your team without overpaying them.Or maybe they are asking themselves that, and when the answer is "a playoff spot" then they're content.
but yeah, that bledsoe singing wasnt the best...

Gladly send out Bledsoe to free up the space. Won't happen, so who cares right?INFORMER wrote:With what money?TheOriginalOriginal wrote:Another dream signing would be Jimmy Butler.

Not enough posters on this board to merit blocking anyone!

His ability to dismantle a defense. You still can't stay in front of him one on one and he finishes like Dragic driving to the basket (very close % on drives, but Parker gives you more points off those actions in less minutes).AmareIsGod wrote:Care to elaborate? What is it that makes Tony Parker, today, a superstar? How does what he does, today, make him much better than Bledsoe? We aren't living in yesteryear. I'm trying to talk about this objectively in relation to basketball being played in 2015.Ring_Wanted wrote:Not even close. Parker is much better than Bledsoe, even today. The numbers might be close, but their game is not, in my opinion.
Also has killer midrange game (only Durant, Westbrook and Curry have a better % in pullup situations with more attempts per game) and this year is making all his threes. Perfectly capable of playing pick and roll/pop, experience, winner, etc.
Bledsoe has all the physical tools but has to learn how to make proper use of them and Dragic has all the skills but lacks athletically, whereas Parker's blend is still one of the most refined even in 2015.

When you start looking at plus minus and WAR statistics (advanced analytics and sabermetrics), numbers that dictate a players true impact on his ability to win games, Bledsoe is in the top 30 in the NBA and Parker isn't on that list.

I understand Tony Parker is a great player with go to moves and abilities that have been key in San Antonio winning championships and to compare the Suns and Spurs is laughable. But if you look at the value each player has provided THIS season in determining the outcome of games, Bledsoe has been a better player. The stats I'm talking about are the ones that GM's that are worth their weight in gold value in putting together a roster and determining players worth. A lot of you trash on the signing of Bledsoe but what he's done on the court has been key in the success we've had thus far THIS season.
I really think there's a lot of unnecessary negativity about what he provides this team all around. Does he have games where he's turnover prone? Absolutely. Has it lost us games? The advanced statistics and his net positive production say otherwise. Too many people look at the eye test and make judgements. The very same thing is done in regards to IT3. The fact is, both are providing net gains and have been two of the biggest pieces in our early success, along with the growth in Alex Len.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I certainly don't trash the Bledsoe signing. Actually I have defended that course of action all summer long. Your target in this case are other posters. I just think Parker is a better player than Bledsoe in 14-15. I can support the case that Eric is more complete overall since he is a huge factor in the defensive end and the glass, but offensively Parker is in a different class in terms of talent.
As for IT3, his offensive power is undeniable and is almost unguardable too, but I don't like his lack of defense (almost every guard is able to exploit him, from Vasquez to Ish smith) and tendency to keep the ball too much in his hands. His production and contributions on O to a number of victories are undeniable as well. In his case, I'd support pawning him off to acquire a relevant piece that makes the Suns a more balanced team, although the 3PG lineups are working better recently (probably thanks to Len in a big part).

I don't understand WAR that well. It's wins above replacement, meaning how many wins do you provide your team over an average replacement lvl player. Goran Dragic only provides 1.45? Behind both Markieff, Bledsoe, Marcus, and IT? That doesn't make sense to me.AmareIsGod wrote:When you start looking at plus minus and WAR statistics (advanced analytics and sabermetrics), numbers that dictate a players true impact on his ability to win games, Bledsoe is in the top 30 in the NBA and Parker isn't on that list.

For the entire season, I would put him at 4th or 5th too. For the last 10 games, he is up in the top 3.carey wrote:I don't understand WAR that well.
