Nah, he was chasing The Record, LA was not afloat in the standings, and now he heard a “pop” to prevent him from losing the playoffs again with both him and AD healthy for a closing run.

^ I agree. He was close to the record and didn't want to shut it down when he was just a handful of games away. Now he overdoes it and hears a pop. I hope the guy will recover fully; I don't want his career to end with a bad injury like that. But I suppose that's how many careers end, or at least how many players fall out of their athletic prime. Despite what an ironman Lebron has been for 20 years, things can change mighty fast.

OKC landed 3 future mvps, including one that’s a top 10-15 player of all time. They also didn’t have to be that patient, they made the playoffs in KD’s 3rd year, conference finals in his 4th and finals in his 5th. He was 23. Westbrook and Harden were 1 and 2 years behind KD.

My only qualification is winning a title, none of this almost crap. OKC never won a title. I also didn't mention Boston who came close last year.

I thought his play was very solid in his first game, the Double OT loss which Clippers blew a double digit lead with under 2mins left and that surely wasn't all on him

Haven't watched the other two games and well aware his numbers could be misleading but yes Here we are.
I have said as much as he does some knucklehead stuff that people overdo the he's a team wrecker thing but either way if Clippers struggle down the stretch I surely not gonna complain

I watched that kings clippers game and left with a different impression. When Westbrook was on the floor and didn’t have the ball, he killed their whole offense when the ball swung to him. He was hesitant and generally a non threat in non transition situations and I was surprised they let him play crunch time.

He stopped caring about winning last year. It became the chase for the scoring title. Dude did nothing on defense for two seasons.

He stopped caring about winning last year. It became the chase for the scoring title. Dude did nothing on defense for two seasons.

He knows that team can't do anything with Day2Davis as his running mate. Why try on defense if you're the only source of offense too?

Glad to see him getting to do interviews, most of his questions were interesting and this was some decent perspective

Nekias is good; but the bar is pretty low on these guys lately. They ask such bad questions. Much has been made of the "talk about" question phrasing, which is still rampant, but even more they just ask questions because they need a specific quote for a story they've already decided on. They don't ask to learn, they ask to fill out a take they've already formed. And the questions often don't seem to reflect any deep insight into the game or its nuances. Need more nerds in those locker rooms and press conferences.

I had a fellow NBA watcher here recently try to convince me Paul George is better than SGA. I almost fell over laughing, and the guy is even Canadian.

He’s definitely not anymore, but I think until this year he was. May just be someone who isn’t up to date on how good SGA is now.

The fact that they turned out to be MVPS is kind of irrelevant. And you talk about accomplishing things in years 3/4/5 - where is OKC now on the timeline? Jaylin/Jalen and Dieng are rookies, Giddey is in year 2, Chet's career hasn't even begun yet. I'm leaving out SGA because they didn't even draft him.

And it wasn't just the future MVPs that they were developing. There was Jeff Green, Ibaka too.
