nice try, shabuzz.
he didnt rule out signing an extension with the suns if they traded for him. at least that was better than kevin love's declaration before the start of last season that he would not sign an extension if the suns acquired him via a trade.

So what point were you trying to make? It has every bit of culture that Chicago has, more diversity and roughly the same population. Maybe you meant to say it's not a "glamour" market?INFORMER wrote:Come on. It's not merely a matter of population size.Shabazz wrote:Huh? Media exposure, industry connections, business opportunities, etc. along with size. When stars have tried to force their way to a large market, how many times did you hear Toronto mentioned?
Re: Around the League: Week 11 1/5-1/11
How often is diverse cultural activities mentioned? Toronto is a larger market, albeit with some wildcard factors because it is in Canada.
Taxes are different; to simplify, rich Americans are better off than rich Canadians when it comes to taxes paid. So that's a big negative for athletes. Still, NBA, MLB and NHL do well there. Torontonians love their Argonauts, too
Otherwise, it's a world-class city with plenty of amenities and opportunities.

Cause you do this all the time. You dig in on a point that is largely inconsequential and everyone is just wrong, wrong, wrong. You like to argue and I guarantee you don't even care about this particular issue or you wouldn't have thrown out Cirque du Soleil of all things as your argument Phoenix is a cultural hotspot.INFORMER wrote:What is your deal in this thread? Let's not get personal about it. For the record, you should check out the "cultural impact" factor on this link, which is a semi-objective way of comparing different cities. There are different rankings with significant differences, but for the purpose of cross-referencing Chicago, Toronto and Phoenix, the ranking should be more or less similar.

Note that Chicago and Toronto are more or less similar -- and that Phoenix doesn't even make the list.
INF -- love the insight you provide to the board.

I'm not sure why you designate yourself as a troll. From what I've seen, you don't generally act this way.In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Re: Around the League: Week 11 1/5-1/11
I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't agree (oops, I guess that proves your point) and I think you are making an inaccurate, sweeping assertion. I would hope I could change your mind, but I am also not inclined to waste time in what is probably a pointless endeavor. You have gone out of your way to remind the board that you don't approve of my "style" on a number of occasions, so I would think enough is enough.carey wrote:Cause you do this all the time.
And yet it is consequential enough for you to get antagonistic.carey wrote:You dig in on a point that is largely inconsequential
I'm really perplexed why you feel the need to figure me out and be a constant critic of my posts. And that you so definitively claim to know what I'm thinking and what my motives are is just weird.carey wrote:You like to argue and I guarantee you don't even care about this particular issue
I'm honestly not complex. What you see is what you get. I'm not going to talk about something I don't care about or don't have an interest in. And when I state an opinion, 99.9% of the time, it's what I believe.
In this case, I don't feel it's a certainty that the Suns couldn't have signed Gasol. I'm sorry that offends you so much, but I promise you it's what I believe.
I have no problem with JCSunsfan, or 'bazz, or anyone disagreeing with me, and I thought this discussion/debate (or argument, as you say) was, devoid of any animus until you decided to deliver your needless barbs.
Regardless, I guess it's time for my participation in this discussion to brought to an end.
Re: Around the League: Week 11 1/5-1/11
