We stayed long enough to watch the Sports Center highlights of the game. First they showed a video of Lebron scoring. Then they showed a video of Lebron scoring later on in the game. Next they showed a video of Lebron scoring even later in the game. Then they showed a video of JR. Smith scoring. Then they showed a video of Lebron scoring again. Finally they showed a video of Morris scoring and then another video of Lebron scoring. You would think by the videos that the Suns were destroyed.

I live in Mountain View, which is even further south than Palo Alto. Mostly I just don't go out to bars/clubs any more, because they're too pricey here. I also haven't really found a good pool hall or bowling alley round these parts, sadly. Lots of yummy restaurants, though.

Mountain View is a nice place. That entire area has great restaurants. I have been to the SFO/SJC area several times in the last 6 months, from Redwood City, to Mountain View, Sunnyvale, San Jose, and even around to Fremont. All of those places have awesome food 2 minutes from wherever you are.

Ah. I've never been further south than Daly City (outside of riding the BART from SFO).

Mori -- gotta get out of Nerdistan. I was so much happier spending my last four years at The Farm (PhD and Postdoc) commuting down from the southern reaches of San Francisco. Dunno about any good bowling alleys in the Peninsula but there's an awesome one in Albany north of Berkeley -- and pinball's a big deal in the Mission.

Laz -- unfortunately, anything anywhere near 16th and Guerrero is going to be about 3x as expensive as you remember it. For the dive bar feel, you kind of have to go out to Oakland nowadays.
