Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
Blanks was a huge Waiters fan.
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
No he wouldn't. Blanks would be content to give a dumb contract extension to his beloved Morris Twins and let them hold down the forward spots. Thank goodness he's not around anymore...oh no wait...iLLmatic wrote:Something tells me that if Blanks were still here he would make that trade lol.

I'm just not convinced Love is good enough to justify giving up what Cleveland would probably want for him.
I don't think he's even worth what Cleveland gave up for him.
He's a great rebounder and scorer, but a terrible defender, and he's had more than his share of health issues (include back problems now).
You don't win championships building around players who can't defend. Haven't we learned that around here by now?

Yep. I think if he would have been around for the 2013 draft, the other Shabazz or Ben McLemore would be a Sun instead of Len.Shabazz wrote:Blanks was a huge Waiters fan.

That is true.ShelC wrote:No, he'd have traded for Waiters and Tristan Thompson.

Whatever the case, now is probably the time to buy low on Love.

You might be right.JCSunsfan wrote:Whatever the case, now is probably the time to buy low on Love.
We have the assets. But it would probably have to be a three-way deal at its simplest. And as others have mentioned, no point trying if Love won't commit to sticking around - and that may be the real sticking point.
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
And this might be the right year to sign him to a new deal. It is the low point.
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
I meant this summer.
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
Don't they (meaning LeBron) want Bledsoe?
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
Love's best setup might be playing between Len and Tucker. Its a nice balance of offense, defense, rebounding and shooting across the front line. These players cover one another's weaknesses and open up the middle for Goran and Bledsoe.
I do what I can to get Love for anything where we do not have to give up Goran, Bledsoe, Len or Tucker.
Thomas, Morris, and Morris works. I would even throw in a pick if Love would commit to resign. It makes room for TJ too.
Bledsoe, Ennis
Dragic, Green, Bullock
PJ, TJ
Love, Wright
Len, Plumlee
You still have instant offense off the bench with Green. You can try getting some of the same out of TJ. Wright can back up both Love and Len. It just feels better. More balanced. Less crowded.

They're boys, but what sense would it make to have Irving, Bledsoe, AND LeBron who all need the ball in their hands. It's one thing for LeBron and Kyrie to take turns, but adding a third wheel at Bledsoe's price tag is just stupid.Indy wrote:Don't they (meaning LeBron) want Bledsoe?

Then you have a non-starter on your hands.JCSunsfan wrote: I do what I can to get Love for anything where we do not have to give up Goran, Bledsoe, Len or Tucker.
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
Was it stupid for us to sign IT after we knew we were going to sign Bledsoe?
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
I would trade anyone on the team for him except Len. But I really want to keep Goran too.
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
You have the right parts to the question, they're just in the wrong order.Indy wrote:Was it stupid for us to sign IT after we knew we were going to sign Bledsoe?
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
But I don't think we did. We signed IT before we knew we were going to be able to sign Bledsoe. Am I mistaken?Indy wrote:Was it stupid for us to sign IT after we knew we were going to sign Bledsoe?
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
I figured you would say that, but I really believe we planned all along to sign Bleds.
Re: Around the League: Week 12 1/12-1/18
That first one was for INF, not you JC.
Unless you don't believe Ryan on it, we planned to sign him all along.

Not sure. I think the Morris twins have some real value right now.INFORMER wrote:Then you have a non-starter on your hands.JCSunsfan wrote: I do what I can to get Love for anything where we do not have to give up Goran, Bledsoe, Len or Tucker.
