I’m glad we didn’t trade for Poole. That would have risked our whole franchise.
The franchise was already risked when the Suns made the Durant deal. Trading for Poole wouldn't have made anything worse. And the Suns would have gotten picks back.
I'm not saying it would have been better than trading for Beal, but it wouldn't have been a terrible option, and I don't see how it would have "risked our whole franchise."

If Poole is as annoying and irritating of an individual as he is thought to be, giving him the PG responsibility would have absolutely ended our championship window. I like some of his game but if Book didn’t like Oubre, imagine how giving Poole the ball all game would work out.

We already gave a 2028 pick swap to Brooklyn. Are you allowed to then swap that with Washington? So we can keep trading pick swaps as many times as we want?
"I'm a Deandre Ayton guy."--Al McCoy, September 21, 2022.
2nd apron teams are not allowed to buy 2nd round picks either.
We reallllllly need to trade DA for some depth/youth or our avenues for improving the roster long-term are severely limited.
Nope, Vogel likes Deandre, this is not possible.
Just saying…. If his next coach doesn’t show up to the airport with roses, a PlayStation 5 and the best medical cannabis they won’t be getting “dominayton”. He only shows up to coaches that love him and coddle him.
We’re probably looking at a 2 year window anyway with this group of Book, KD, and Beal. This is not a dynasty. I imagine if we don’t win, things will shift quickly.
Yep, and we're not as bad off as the media thinks, expiring deals seem to still have a lot of value. Yeah no draft picks stinks, but there are other avenues. Deep pockets can go a long way.
