So many barriers to that happening:

1) Markieff has played so well and the Suns would probably rather have him than Love after Kieff torched him a couple of days ago

2) The Cavs already have a PG

3) Love is a free agent in the Summer so trading for him would be a huge risk.

Not. Gonna. Happen.

This can't be remotely true.

Maybe not.

The Suns also might be tiring of the Morrii technicals and immaturity.

How bout a package of the Morrii, IT and Green for Love, Marion and Mike Miller?

I think they would rather have Markieff at what he is making compared to Love as he's playing right now for what he's making. But in the long run Love is a much better scorer and rebounder, and neither of them plays a lot of defense.

Forwards who get you 19 & 12 every night are hard to come by. I just would't want to pay him 20+ million a year.

The thing about the Morrii is I just dont love cheering for them.

I want to like the guys Im cheering for. Dragic and Tucker are perfect examples.

A couple of years back a Portland columnist said the 2010 Suns werent a likeable bunch. A team with Nash, Hill, Frye, Dudley, Barbosa etc.

How can you like the guys if you know nearly nothing about them?

I know they dont play defense. Dont hustle for rebounds. Argue A LOT with referees. Scream at coaches from time-to-time. Brush off the media when they dont feel like talking. Talk A LOT of trash on the court.

They both might be really nice guys but that doesnt mean theyre the types of players I like cheering for.

However, I think anyone who says Kentavious Caldwell-Pope missed a game winning shot because "he doesnt have any heart" isnt exactly a super nice guy.

Holy crap, Indy. Are we allowed to say ANYTHING without you being so contrary?

That makes a lot more sense. Just saying you want to like the guys you root for wasn't very clear.

But then saying you like rooting for Tucker when he got busted for a DUI and then missed the bus on an away game to delay the flight was strange to me.

Some people seem to be grumbling lately about folks like INF or Indy asking a lot of questions, being contrary, overly questioning or prodding or criticizing aspects of the team. I think it's a bit of an overreaction. It's perfectly fine to question anything, for INF to criticize when McDo seems to lack long-term vision, for any poster to challenge another poster to more thoroughly explain their takes.

If somebody says, "I just never liked Markieff Morris, we should trade him," it's totally okay to come back with, "Well, why? Can you explain your reasoning?" And when you do explain your reasoning, it's okay to challenge that, to dig deeper, to question further. It's okay to question each other and disagree. This is a discussion board; that's sort of the point.

INF and Indy have some of the most well thought out, insightful takes on the board. I don't agree with all of them, but I always enjoy reading them.

1. Really? Love scored 26 and pulled down 12 last year. Kieff has played well for us, but he is not and will never be on that level. Love is just getting way fewer touches in Cleveland.

2. The Cavs need journeyman depth. They have two stars. They need players who will mix it up and play hard. Tucker, the Morri, etc. IT would be insurance for them to make the numbers work. He can provide instant offense off the bench when LeBron and Kyrie sit. Imagine IT and JR Smith playing together. Ha!

3. No guarantee Love will be on the market this summer. He might opt out but quickly sign again with Cleveland. Any trade for Love has to be with guarantees anyway.

Not really less probably than alot of other deals that have happened. Not saying it will, but its in the realm.

For me, trading either Tucker or Dragic is a deal breaker.

So to be clear (and not too contrarian), it is a 30 year old journeyman forward that would make you say no to Kevin Love?

I m not a big fan of Kevin Love. His numbers look so much better, then actually watching him play. He couldn't carry the twolves and couldn't carry the LBJ less cavs. He is probably the best shooter at his position, and I don't question his meaning for a pick n roll based offense. But damn he is pricey... I d keep the younger still developing markieff with all his limitations at the price we have him for the next few years. Len seems a good enough rebounder to cover markieff s weekness if you ask me.

Still, too much of our offense comes from long 2's. Markieff's the biggest reason for that. I worry how Kieff will eventually work with TJ, whom most of us envision as the starter at some point.

I'd also like to think that Love would be a 40% 3FG shooter in our system. If he can get there, and with his passing, he could be a great fit. But there are lots of reasons to doubt the prudence of moving for him at this point.
