I was always a fan. RIP. Dude was a good former Suns player in his role.
Uhh... Brandon Hunter never played for the Suns.

You're probably thinking of Steven Hunter.
I was going to say the same thing. I didn’t recall the name and looked him up and he only had two NBA seasons with Boston and Charlotte.

Short story about personal history with hot yoga:
When I was playing basketball in high school, my hs coach would have a saying, "No one ever drowned in sweat."

So yrs later, I was doing hot yoga, and there was legitimately a small pond worth of sweat forming below my face. I thought to myself, I might end up being the first to actually drown in sweat, haha.
OK, added to my DO NOT DO list, hot yoga. Check.

Being that my hs coach is still a friend of mine, I happened to tell him the story. My delivery must have been pretty poor, because he didn't think it was funny. lol.

I thought it was hilarious…. Lol

Cool you keep in contact with you old coaches…. Educators eat that stuff up. My sons football coach was my PE coach in jr high and high school. Talk about worlds colliding…. Would be one thing if it was at the same school but I went to school in Mesa while my boys go to Florence high…. Not really close at all.

Bikram ("Hot") yoga is intense. They put you in this absolutely smoldering hot room, with humidifiers running, so you're just trapped in this oven for an hour. Then they have you do yoga poses and moves, while you become a complete sweaty mess. It's supposed to have some potential benefits, since it flushes a lot of sweat and fluids out of your body, and your flexibility is high in a warm environment like that. But after the (one and only) time I did it, I felt ill and light-headed. You lose a bunch of water and need to chug like 3 water bottles afterward.

I would put this along with CrossFit and parkour under the category of "shit that 22-year-olds can get away with, but middle-aged people should stay the hell away from." I don't think it's good for an older body to be subjected to those kinds of extreme conditions. Sad for Hunter; RIP. What an unnecessary loss.

The "gym" where I play pickup is basically an aluminum warehouse with a court inside. There's a small A/C unit way up in the corner. It's about this time every year I'm grateful that I made it through another summer without getting heat stroke or being injured from slipping on sweat.

Remember that “sweat tent” in Sedona where that cult leader got multiple people killed several years back? Excessive sweating is dangerous, especially without electrolyte replacement. And of course heat stroke is a real thing.

Man what a difference between him and Sarver... Sarver was every bit the shrewd businessman with his franchise, while Ishbia is running his team like he's a fan.

Yes, I’ve dealt with heat stroke in my youth. Not going to put myself in an artificial condition to bring it on again.

I’m curious on how this free TV is going to play out on League Pass. Can’t imagine there will be any issues getting the games though.

The Suns have now officially announced that Jon Bloom will "replace" Al McCoy:

https://arizonasports.com/story/3534265 ... enix-suns/

I have the perfect backup (assuming Al doesn't want to fill in) when Bloomer is unavailable: Greg Schulte, who is retiring sometime between early October and early November (depending how far the Dbacks go). That's how he got his start, working on the Suns radio broadcasts. :)

I'm hoping we don't have to see that big-ass Bally's scoreboard that blocks the court. I much prefer a minimally sized scoreboard that let' me see more of the action. And no ticker please!

Glad I was wrong about Hunter. Different guy. RIP all the same.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Great guy. I had the privilege of interviewing him once, and he was gracious enough to do it last minute.

26 years as the radio voice of the Diamondbacks is pretty incredible, but Al still has him beat by 25 years.

Little known fact: Al McCoy filled in for Greg and called a few Dbacks games in the early part of their existence. I wish I had audio of that. I think I do somewhere, but I don't know if I can find it.
