Ya I’d be happy to move MPJ elsewhere too…I don’t know if Detroit would be interested(or if KD would be interested), but I like them as an option. Cleveland would be interesting…who would be the main piece coming back? Is that a Garland or Jarrett Allen trade?INFORMER wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 2:39 pmI think MPJ could probably be rerouted to another team like Chicago and Sacramento, but yeah, I think Denver is a likely trade partner.
I think the Pacers have made it far enough that they won't have the stomach to trade their depth for two years of Durant. And I think Giannis potentially being traded has taken San Antonio out of the mix.
I think Minnesota and Cleveland will be willing trade partners, but they may not be able to maneuver out of the aprons to put a package together.

I don't see KD willing to live in Cleveland
Re: 2025 NBA Playoffs
He might not…but of all stars, KD seems more concerned with the actual basketball to me. He really just wants to play basketball.

Re: 2025 NBA Playoffs
None of his actions on the court speak of someone who wants to play basketball. Only someone who wants to score
Re: 2025 NBA Playoffs
Hey, he likes to lob up some errant, half ass pass that even Hellen Keller could intercept... How dare you forget thatspecialsauce wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 4:30 pmNone of his actions on the court speak of someone who wants to play basketball. Only someone who wants to score

Re: 2025 NBA Playoffs
I think it will end up being KD to Golden State, although given the complex nature of transactions between teams at or over the CBA aprons, other teams will have to be involved. Re-signed Kuminga would be the major young piece coming back, along with picks and salary filler. Golden State does it because they're desperate to try to pry open a couple of years worth of title window with Curry, Butler, and KD as their core (it'll look good for a while but won't work out, injuries will ultimately wreck it).
I have a feeling that Draymond Green will end up elsewhere as part of all this. I hope it's not in Phoenix, although given the current ownership's love of all things Spartan it's a possibility. In any case, I think KD makes an under-the-radar demand that Draymond has to be gone before he'll agree to go back to the Warriors.

Re: 2025 NBA Playoffs
If our haul for KD is Kuminga/Draymond or MPJ, we are well and truly effed for years to come.
Re: 2025 NBA Playoffs
I've seen this trade idea bounced around: KD to Philly for some package including the #3 pick and busted Paul George. I don't love it, but at least we would get one blue chip pick back. I think 1-2 very promising young players and/or picks coming back is an absolute necessity in any KD trade. A trade that nets us nothing but established veteran players back is doom.

We’d have 2 of the 5 worst contracts in basketball with Beal and PG

Re: 2025 NBA Playoffs
In this scenario the suns better not be taking on PG. he should go to Utah with the #3 pick and the suns get Markkanen
Re: 2025 NBA Playoffs
Only if we extend him at $75 million per year.

Re: 2025 NBA Playoffs
Paul George is worse than Beal, the 3rd pick isn't enough to get me to bite on that. No shot.
Love, Hurts.
Re: 2025 NBA Playoffs
BTW, regarding the playoffs: now that Denver is out, the four remaining teams (OKC, MIN, NYK, IND) represent a real "changing of the guard" in the NBA. Literally all of the wily old veteran teams like GSW, LAL, LAC, DEN, PHX in the West, and BOS, MIA, in the East, are out. Every team left has a young athletic under-age-30 core and is part of a "new wave" of teams rising in the NBA. I think this is basically the mark of the start of a new era. Not every young up-and-coming team advanced (CLE), but all the old fogeys are out.

All these teams have endless wings who can defend. That's why they are here.
