No but I’m putting my money on either Randle or Anunoby or Bridges being the main piece coming back.
Shoot James Jones into the Sun.
The guy who got us closest to our first ever NBA Championship? Nah.
That was Chris Paul.

I know there’s been some KD for PG and #3 talk, but what if you rope in Utah…

KD to Philly
PG and #3 to Utah
Lauri and a 2026 1st to Phoenix

Who is the first from? Also, I don't think they'd keep it anyway, they'd probably use it to acquire more talent.

Utah, but it would be like a Minnesota 1st…I was thinking likely a bad 1st that Utah owns

I would love this, but why does Utah do it.

I am not a huge fan of trading KD for some other veteran player in an attempt to stay competitive right now. But of all such trades, that is one of the least bad ones I have seen. Markkanen is a pretty decent player in return for KD, plus a pick. Could be worse. I am dreading some kind of Draymond + Kuminga trade, or MPJ from Denver, or Julius Randle, or players of that nature.

We’re trading a 38 year old KD…. The return is 10000% going to disappoint. Just set your expectations low that way if they do marginally better we’ll feel better. Just can’t believe how fast one guy can ruin a franchise with his monstrous ego.

What are the odds we keep KD?

Well if the team we are trading him to mainly cares about having him for a Finals run, then yes, he will be about 3 months away from 38 during the Finals next year.

Let's just say he's 50 since he's closer to that than 20.

I expect to get less than half of what we gave up to unload the 56 years old KD.

SportingNews proposed trade:
Trade prediction sees Suns dump Kevin Durant to Western Conference rival in shocking deal

Houston Rockets Receive: Kevin Durant

Phoenix Suns Receive: Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., 2025 First-Round Pick (#10 overall), 2026 First-Round Pick (via Phoenix), 2027 First-Round Pick (via Phoenix)

Washington Wizards Receive: Jock Landale, 2025 First-Round Pick (#29 overall), 2029 First-Round Pick (least favorable of Cleveland, Minnesota, and Utah)

Not sure why Washington would do it but it seems reasonable from our perspective.

This will cheer you all up a bit:

Kevin Durant may very well be a Sun next season
NBA Insider Jake Fischer reports the Slim Reaper staying in Phoenix remains a possibility.

I'm actually ok with that. I almost think standing pat and tweaking the roll players "might" work with a decent coach. Of course the biggest needs would be quality PG, center and PF as unlikely as all those may be.
