I feel like Ott is so obvious and on-the-nose that it's really Bryant and Ishbia and crew are just giving the MSU guy some attention and helping him get his name out there. Or they could do something really outside the box and hire Bryant as HC and give Ott an Associate Head Coach title.

I hope you're right and I wouldn't mind your last suggestion. Keep 'em as a pair as long as Bryant is head coach.

On paper, Ott makes sense and has a decent resume. I think I'd be fine with his inevitable hiring if Ishbia didn't just hire an unqualified GM basically only due to his MSU ties.

Hope I'm wrong and Bryant (who was my favorite since the beginning) is the pick, with Ott coming too as Associate HC.

I guess I never realized until now that they are both assistant coaches for Cleveland. That's bizarre. I wonder if that's ever happened before where two assistance coaches were candidates for a head coaching job.

I guess I never realized until now that they are both assistant coaches for Cleveland. That's bizarre. I wonder if that's ever happened before where two assistance coaches were candidates for a head coaching job.

Not only that but one of them is the lead assistant. Are they really going to pick the guy under him for head coach? Michigan State so probably. I'm team Johnnie. Fingers crossed but like TOO, I'm prepared to be disappointed. If it is Ott, just hope he can surprise like another Michigander, Dan Majerle, back in the day. Cotton: You will rue the day you booed this young man.

And like Split suggested and I'm all for it, is to keep them together with Ott as lead assistant. I'd be pretty happy with that outcome. That way they both get upgrades from their current jobs.
