Suns trying to work the Rockets on a KD trade:

That Bickley Blast really pushes for Johnnie Bryant for our new head coach. He did have a good point that if Booker has any say, he'd probably be more team Bryant than team Ott.
I saw this too, I really can't imagine Ishbia will want to deal with the full MSU staff pushback he's gonna get from the fans and media if he hires Ott, he could just be doing Ott a solid by pushing him this far as Bickley said.

I'll tell you one thing. The final straw for me as a Phoenix Suns fan would be if Ishbia changes our team colors to green and white. :P  (Dang it Bone, don't give him any ideas!)

It’s going to be Smith/Green/#10

We want 27/29 as well, but Houston is not doing that. We’ve probably conceded on 29, but Houston probably doesn’t want to move 27 either. I’m hoping the compromise is we get Whitmore.
We must, MUST hold out for at least two 1sts. #10 this year is NOT enough; it gives us nothing to use for future tanking. I would rather have 2027 than #10 this year, but preferably both. Or they can keep #10 but we get 2027 and 2029.

If they won't surrender two 1sts, trade KD somewhere else to somebody who will: San Antonio, NYK, etc. Houston does not hold 100% of the leverage here.
Just don't forget that KD can tend to dictate where he goes since they'd want reassurances that he'll resign with them.

Or Ishbia is just a petty SOB and wants to annoy Gilbert by courting both his assistant coaches to the end

Ishbia could just go full petty and hire both of them...Bryant as HC and Ott as Associate Head Coach. Takes two good coaches from someone he hates, gets his MSU ties, and gets who I think will be an outstanding HC in Bryant.

The implication would be that no one is offering multiple 1sts…I know our GM pick was very suspect, but I have to believe he’s not a total moron. There’s no way he’s just ignoring better offers. I don’t think those other offers exist. You can be adamant all you want about not trading KD unless we get 2 picks, but no one has to offer that. We’d just end up with KD back and complain about why the front office didn’t trade him.

Honestly prefer to keep KD and try and again the deadline. We should get multiple 1st just to take on Jalen Green. Just ridiculous to bail out rockets with Green.

I think we’ve swung to Green being underrated at this point. I don’t like Green and I don’t want him here because he’s a bad fit with Booker, but he’s still a young talent…starting a contract that isn’t great, but I don’t think he has negative value like some say. I would absolutely reroute him elsewhere, but I do think he’d return something. I also really like Jabari Smith…Green is just the money to me. We’d be getting a 22 year old 6’11 shooter who defends, plus the 10th pick, and maybe another young athletic prospect in Cam Whitmore. Whatever Green returns is gravy.

Just as long as we get some good mashed potatoes with that gravy. (Yeah, I haven't had lunch yet.)

There is no world where Green is underrated. He's Jordan Poole with a bigger contract.

Jalen Green puts up some gaudy scoring stats (21 ppg) but his shooting percentages are worrisome. He hits only 42% FG and 35% from 3.

As a comparison, Landry Shamet is a noticeably better shooter, at 46% FG and 39.7% from 3:

Ya there are obvious issues with Green, but I’m not sure comparing his percentages to a low usage, off ball guard really says much. How does he compare to other high usage creators?

There were 26 guards who played at least 30 games last year and had a usage rate of 27 or higher. Jalen Green comes in 22nd if you rank them by TS%. He’s ahead of LaMelo Ball, Jordan Clarkson, Jalen Suggs, and Dejounte Murray. Right behind CJ McCollum, De’Aaron Fox, and Tyrese Maxey.

Booker is 11th on this list by the way…right behind Jordan Poole and Collin Sexton. Just ahead of Luka and Harden.

I don't hate Jalen Green, I just hate the fit with him + Book + Beal. Or the fit with him + Book, it's two SGs trying to share the ball again, no better than Book + Beal has been. Green would make more sense if we were trading Booker to Houston, which I prefer not to do unless he asks out.

I guess you don't believe Gambo that Beal won't be here to begin the season. He's been right on almost everything in recent years so I tend to not doubt him.

So what you’re saying is we should trade Green for Poole? :P

He’s not the best but better than nothing and still young, however I feel he’ll bring the same frustrations another center brought. If we could send them Dunn, Royce and KD for Bridges and KAT I’d do it.

This is one of the legit trades with KD that I could see happening. Trading an old KD for a young, but flawed, KAT might make sense depending on what other offers are out there. I don't think this is a bad trade depending on the details.

Id take KAT, but that doesn't solve the rumored draft picks the Suns want to recoup.
