Let's hope he can have as good a season as the last guy to wear Green on his back for the Suns.

Congrats to OKC. They did everything the right way: had patience in building their team, identified the right players and always played hard. An amazing season and they’re only going to get better.

I’m insanely jealous of them - particularly at the GM spot.

Congrats to OKC. Hope we live to see the Suns in the same position.

Hali blowing his achilles is such a sick joke man. This blows.
Well, they chose to let him play with that calf injury, so I can't say I was that surprised to hear it was his Achilles. Modern athletes are like fine-tuned sports cars - if something's out of alignment or not working correctly it can be catastrophic. Hopefully it's not as bad as it appears.

The only answer is shortening the season, but they won’t do that
The season has been 82 games for decades, now you need to shorten the season to prevent injuries? I don’t think so. How about decrease the wear and tear on young players in AAU ball. Stop pushing them so hard when their bodies are developing. Stop playing young players year round and give them time off. There is way too much pressure on young players. The same goes for baseball.
I don’t know anything about AAU, but can’t see how that’s impacting nba players getting hurt. I think the game is significantly more demanding than 90s ball was. Pack the paint and don’t have to sprint out to shooters.

I said it right in my statement. There has been no Green since Gerald in a Suns uniform as far as I can remember.

The NBA has got to figure out how to keep its best players on the court.
How do you figure out how to prevent certain players from getting injured? Every team has the same parameters to deal with.
It's not up to me. I'm not the one with resources, like the best sports science and medical professionals in the world.

They've reduced the back-to-backs, but they just need to be eliminated.

I get they won't ever reduce the number of games, but maybe some sort of hiatus for recovery would help.

But this becoming too common place over the last 10 years. Tatum, Giannis, Jamaal Murray, Haliburton, Durant, Klay, etc. It doesn't make sense for technology/science/medicine to advance so far to have more injuries then we saw in the mid 90s with Shaq, Malone, Stockton, Reggie, the Admiral, Barkley, Olajuwon, Drexler, Ewing, Jordan, Pippen, etc. Now it's rare to get through a playoff series without one of the best players being lost to injury.
Hmm. Not sure what has changed since the mid 90s other than the pace of the game. But yeah, I wouldn't mind adding more rest time and maybe extending the season length.
The drug policy changed. They used to only be tested once per year - right before training camp, iirc. There are a lot of perfectly legal supplements that increase recovery speed and you can take it to the bank that those were in regular use. Players then were jacked, bald in their 20's, angry at each other, and recovered very quickly between games.
