Yeah, you can bench him. I love Dunn but Dillon Brooks is the better player right now. I think many on here are letting their person feelings get in the way with their opinion of Brooks. Hes absolutely a solid starter. Also I’m not suggesting to pull a Bud and sit Dunn at the end of the bench or something like that. I fully expecting him to get a consistent 20-25 minutes a night playing various positions coming off the bench. I just don’t see any negatives when it comes to his development if he comes off the bench vs starting. He absolutely deserved to be starting last year but a lot of that is due to our utterly incompetent roster building under Ishbia.JeremyG wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 6:51 pmDunn already started the majority of our games last season. You can’t just bench him this season. For Dillon Brooks of all people. Ugh.Wally_West wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 6:35 pmTrue. My spidey senses are telling me we are gonna draft Carter Bryant or Collin Murray-Boyles at 10 on Wednesday, with them probably playing most of the minutes at 4, with like you said before, Ryan and Brooks playing the 4 according to matchups as well. Even Oso too.
I think the plan with Ryan is to let him sit behind Brooks for this year with him let him develop a little more before taking a starting spot next year. Brooks will be expiring contract next season and I would imagine we’ll sell him off for draft assets or something like that.
He needs plenty of playing time to develop. If anyone has earned a starting role it’s him.
I don’t think Brooks is an apart of our future core but he has the potential to be an interesting trade chip for us either at the deadline or next offseason as an expiring contract, so it’s in our best interest that he starts and plays well.
