Just seemed like I was hearing a lot of complaining, but no one actually even suggesting someone else we should’ve picked. Not talking you specifically. You’ve mentioned alternatives you liked
If we wanted a center I would have taken Sorber over Maluach.
I’ve heard some good things about sorber…aren’t there some injury concerns?
He injured his left big toe in a fall—hopefully it’s not something that will be a long-term concern. I’m more concerned about Maluach’s conditioning issues. I don’t know if he will ever be able to average 30+ mpg, like I would want from a starting center.

Plus Sorber seems to have the more polished, well-rounded game.
Why do you think he won’t be able to correct his conditioning issues? Seems like something that should be fairly easy to fix if he’s got the work ethic
Well I would assume he’s tried to work on it in the past already. When I say “conditioning issues” it’s not necessarily something he can fix completely, even with the right strategies and work ethic. Sometimes big men, especially once they get to a certain size, like over 7 feet, just get winded or fatigued more easily, due to physiological and other factors. Hopefully it can get better, but it may only be possible to improve his stamina to a somewhat limited degree. We’ll see. Also, sometimes underlying conditions can be a culprit too, such as POTS—even a mild form (many times undiagnosed) can wreak havoc on athletic endurance, as I’ve experienced personally.

That’s certainly possible but I would think it’s more possible and more likely that a young player who’s only been playing for a short time can improve in a lot of different areas, including conditioning

I don't know if it's actually even an issue. Jeremy is the only one I've heard voice it. In fact, Gregory touted his conditioning as a plus in his press conference after day one. Plus, he looks to be in amazing shape.

Considering how badly the Suns got screwed by Durant, I am shockingly excited by the Suns after the draft.

Kidney stones? All is forgiven!
Ah, thanks. 😇
They are the WORST! I've been through it 2 times, technically 3 as the last time I had a two-fer with one day of relief in between.
You have my respect…. I’m a virgin kidney stoner. My father in law has a two-fer as well. Brutal.
Oh, man. Are you in the middle of it now? I think it's about the worst pain a man can have.
I had one 5 years ago and it was the worst pain of my life for sure. When it started to move, I'd be bed ridden and rolling around in agony. I drank a TON of cranberry juice and you can get supplements that are supposed to help them pass as well. I drank some nasty liquid mixed with water and also took some pills, but can't recall the name. I bought that at like Vitamin World. I think it was a 3-4 day process for me, with the middle 36 hours being absolute hell. I was sooooo thrilled when I finally passed it. Hang in there.

This video is what made me skeptical. I think Jeremy just googled him and glommed onto the first negative thing he could find about him. And I love his quote, "You cannot break the broken."

He's such a likeable guy, now does that mean he'll be good? Of course not, but it's hard not to root for him and his story. Hopefully he's our Zubac.

Totally agree... I can also see that type of emotion being a MONSTROUS driving force in his willingness to succeed, and not just for that second contract.

I don’t appreciate the insinuation (“you just tried to find something negative because the Suns drafted him”). And here is proof you are wrong:
JeremyG wrote:

My top 7 picks for pick #10 (if we keep it), in order:

1. Ace Bailey (SF)
2. Nolan Traore (PG)
3. Jeremiah Fears (PG)
4. Carter Bryant (SF)
5. Collin Murray-Boyles (PF)
6. Thomas Sorber (C)
7. Derik Queen (C)

More than one of these players will almost certainly still be on the board, so I didn’t feel the need to add any others, especially ones that may drop to #29.
That was before Gambo even mentioned we liked Maluach. There was a reason I left him off my list.

I just posted the Google AI screenshot because it summarizes all of the reported concerns about him. I can give you the original links to the primary sources if you want.

And I never said he is “out of shape.” He just can’t stay on the court for very long. Remember Javale McGee?

The actual thinking was along the lines of any big man we bring in is a slight to Ayton. Which is quite understandable, you'd have to admit due to your history of defensive commentary.

I had nothing but good things to say about the trade for Richards.

OK, Jeremy. Sorry if I misinterpreted you. If you really wanted to avoid Maluach like some wanted to avoid CMB, that's your prerogative. But as a Suns fan, I hope you will be rooting for him to succeed.
