Please no to Santi Claus.

Re: 2025 NBA Free Agency
I wonder why we’ve never been linked to a guy like Schroeder. Maybe because he’s not taking a minimum?
Re: 2025 NBA Free Agency
Here's the list of UFAs....might as well just start at the bottom for the minimum guys. SG, SF and C seem to be covered for us.
We could use a legit PG for depth even tho he probably won't start or see a ton of minutes. If/when Beal is gone we'll have Book and Green seeing a bulk of the minutes in the backcourt. I don't have any real interest in Tyus coming back but could see him being one of the better options. Would rather see Monte Morris back, thought he was better on both ends but never got a real shot under Bud. Wouldn't mind seeing Cam Payne back for vibes!
We also have a hole at PF. Probably don't want Dunn starting, doubt Oso is that guy and can't have any expectations for Fleming at the moment. We won't be getting a high level starter but I still like Taurean Prince as a vet for a younger team like ours. Precious Achiuwa is a hustle 4/5 and would be a bit overextended as a starter. I think Yabusele will be too expensive. I like Jeremiah Robinson-Earl but he'd be more of a depth piece. Marvin Bagley could be an option even tho he's had a bunch of chances and not done much with them.

Re: 2025 NBA Free Agency
https://www.spotrac.com/news/_/id/2880/ ... rojectionsThe Suns were getting close to out of the second apron tunnel. You could see the light starting to appear. Then they took on salary by acquiring Mark Williams. Now, Phoenix is dealing with all the same second-apron issued they battled last year. The roster is very imbalanced, so there is work to be done. Maybe those moves will finally see the Suns drop below the second apron, but don’t bank on it.
Re: 2025 NBA Free Agency
I'm anticipating starting Brooks and Dunn at the forward spots, and Brooks will handle the more physical matchups (Julius Randle). They'll have room to play Fleming, experiment with a Williams-Maluach lineup, and Huntley was signed to a 2-way, so it seems they're leaving the door open for him to see time.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see them sign Diakite to a standard contract.
Re: 2025 NBA Free Agency
I think the salary adding stuff tells me they are waiving and stretching Beal. No way we stay 2nd apron. I guess we could completely dump Grayson into cap space, but that doesn’t seem ideal.
I have us at 226 million with 14 contracts. Guessing a bit on Fleming and assuming Gillespie signs. Could free up 13.8 million by declining Martin and Richards…but gotta replace them with about 4.6 million in vet min deals. So that brings us to about 217 million. Still need to cut 10 million to get out.

Send Royce to Brooklyn for a bag of socks, they've got the space.
Love, Hurts.

Re: 2025 NBA Free Agency
I agree; I have been thinking that Westbrook would be a good affordable starting PG for us. We need a distributor in the worst way, and we also need hustle and attitude and toughness. Westbrook makes too many mistakes and isn't a starting PG for a contender, but he could be a good role model and leader and tough guy to make the others play hard. I would definitely reach out to him.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 10:02 pmCan't believe I'm going to write this, but I think I like Westbrook for this team as well.

Re: 2025 NBA Free Agency
I’d much rather CP3.
Precious Achiuwa, Dalano Banton, Batum, Chris Boucher, Amir Coffey, Tre Jones, Laravia, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Tre Mann, De'Anthony Melton, Josh Minott, Larry Nance, Chris Paul, T. Prince, Reed, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Tate, Watford, Guerschon Yabusele
Re: 2025 NBA Free Agency
I doubt that will happen. I imagine CP3 is pissed at the Suns for how his time here ended. He has talked smack about us in a couple of interviews. I read that he wants to move back closer to LA, but I bet he is still too upset at us to come here.
Even if he did come, he's going to be 40+ and probably is not up to the task of being a starting NBA PG for a full season any more. I love CP3 but I think I'd rather bring in a younger PG. All that said, if he were willing to come here cheap, I absolutely would take him.
Re: 2025 NBA Free Agency
I think he’s a backup pg wherever he goes at this point…but I do expect one of the LA teams is more likely

Absolutely no to Westbrook.
Stupid players are my least favorite kind of players. He plays hard but he is just so dumb.
